Sky View High School
Sky View High School (SVHS), is located in Smithfield, Utah. Sky View is the northernmost public high school in the state. As part of the Cache County School District, it serves approximately 1,300 students in grades 9 through 12. In addition to serving the students of Smithfield, it also serves students in the neighboring cities of Richmond, Cove, and Lewiston. Sky View is one of five high schools in Cache Valley. History Until 1964, the Cache County School District maintained two high schools: North Cache ( Richmond) and South Cache ( Hyrum). Beginning with the 1964–65 school year, both student bodies were combined at the newly built Sky View in Smithfield. Smithfield, Utah
Smithfield is a city in Cache County, Utah, United States. The population was 9,495 at the 2010 United States Census, with an estimated population of 12,025 in 2019. It is included in the Logan, Utah-Idaho Metropolitan Statistical Area, and is the second largest city in the area after Logan, the county seat. Jalen Dwaine Moore (born August 21, 1995) is an American former basketball player. He played college basketball for Utah State University. College career Moore came to Utah State from Sky View High School. His father, Jimmy Moore, had been a standout player for the Aggies and is in the school's athletic Hall of Fame. Following his junior season, Moore declared his eligibility for the 2016 NBA draft, but opted to return for his senior season. Conner Mantz
Conner Mantz (born 8 December 1996) is an American long-distance runner, who competes for Nike. He ran collegiately for Brigham Young University, and won the 2020 and 2021 NCAA Division I Cross Country Championships. Professional Mantz represented the United States in the junior race at the 2015 IAAF World Cross Country Championships in Guiyang, China, placing 29th in 25:28 over 8 km. Mantz also led Team USA to a 6th place finish. Shortly after turning professional in December 2021, Mantz won the USA Half Marathon Championships in Hardeeville, South Carolina with a time of 1:00:55. March 20th, Mantz placed 5th at 2022 United Airlines NYC Half-Marathon in 1:01:40. Mormon Tabernacle Choir
The Tabernacle Choir at Temple Square, formerly known as the Mormon Tabernacle Choir, is an American choir, acting as part of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church). It has performed in the Salt Lake Tabernacle for over 100 years. The Tabernacle houses an organ, consisting of 11,623 pipes, which usually accompanies the choir. The choir was founded on August 22, 1847, twenty-nine days after the Mormon pioneers entered the Salt Lake Valley. Prospective singers must be LDS Church members who are eligible for a temple recommend, between 25 and 55 years of age at the start of choir service, and live within of Temple Square. Craig D. Jessop (born 1949) is an American academic, musician and singer best known for his tenure as the music director of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir (Choir) from 1999 to 2008. Utah Festival Opera & Musical Theatre (UFOMT) is an opera company based in Logan, Utah. The company performs four fully staged works with orchestra in repertory every July and August at the Ellen Eccles Theatre on Logan's Main Street. The works performed range from operas to operettas to musicals. Singers, performers, technicians and orchestra come from all over the United States, including artists from Broadway and the Metropolitan Opera. Michael Lynn Ballam (born August 21, 1951) is an American opera singer, educator, and arts administrator. He is the founding general director of Utah Festival Opera and a professor of music at Utah State University. He has served on the faculty of the Music Academy of the West, where he also studied, and as a guest lecturer at Stanford, Yale, Catholic University and Manhattan School of Music. Kent Baer
Kent Lex Baer (born May 2, 1951) is an American college football coach. He is the defensive coordinator at the University of Montana, a position he had held since 2018. Baer served as the interim head football coach at the University of Notre Dame for one game in 2004 and at San Jose State University for one game in 2012.
