Skully (game)
Skully (also called skelly, skellies, skelsy, skellzies, scully, skelzy, scummy top, tops, loadies or caps) is a children's game played on the streets of New York City and other urban areas. Sketched on the street usually in chalk, a skully board allows a game for two to six players. A sidewalk is sometimes used, offering greater protection from vehicular traffic; however, the asphalt on a typical city street is smoother and provides better game play than a bumpy concrete sidewalk. Game time varies, but a match of two to three players is usually completed in 20 minutes. Local variations in rules are common and make it difficult to document the game. Rule variations are agreed upon by players before starting a game, especially when players from different neighborhoods play against each other. Skully was a brand of motorcycle helmet with a heads-up display and a rear-facing camera. Skully Helmets Inc The helmet was invented by Marcus Weller who also served as the company chief executive officer. As of July 12, 2016 Marcus Weller was removed as CEO and replaced by Martin Fitcher. Fichter was an executive at mobile device company HTC's American subsidiary in Bellevue, Washington. The helmet's software is based on the Android platform, and can be controlled with voice commands. Users can see rearward through the heads-up display and the rear camera. The helmet also includes Bluetooth functionality, allowing music streaming from smartphones. As of August, 2014, the manufacturer was taking preorders for the helmet. The company also had the fastest fully funded Indiegogo crowdfunding campaign to-date, raising $1.1 million. Noel Bartholomew Simms (18 March 1935 – 4 February 2017), better known by his nickname and artistic name Scully, was a Jamaican ska, rocksteady and reggae percussionist. David Sullivan Kaplan (born July 9, 1979 in New York) is an American drummer and member of the London-based band Razorlight. Styles of Beyond was an American underground hip hop group from the San Fernando Valley of Los Angeles, California. The group consists of MCs Ryan Patrick Maginn (Ryu) and Takbir Bashir (Tak), Colton Raisin Fisher (DJ Cheapshot), and producer Jason Rabinowitz (Vin Skully). They have released two LPs, one mixtape and were heavily featured on Mike Shinoda's Fort Minor project in 2005. At one point they were also signed to Shinoda's Machine Shop Recordings label, although they left the label in late 2008.
