Skopje Fest 2008
Macedonia selected its entry to the Eurovision Song Contest 2008 through a national final at the Skopje Fest 2008 on 23 February 2008. Before Eurovision Skopje Fest 2008 ''Skopje Fest 2008'' was a song contest organized by MKRTV that served as Macedonia's national final to select their entry for the Eurovision Song Contest 2008. The competition took place on 23 February 2008 at the Metropolis Arena in Skopje, hosted by Živkica Gjurčinovska and Borislav Tnokovski and was broadcast on MTV 1 and MTV Sat. Competing entries MKRTV received 130 submissions from interested artists and composers during a submission period. Fifteen entries were selected from the open submissions, while an additional six entries were submitted by well-known composers directly invited by MKRTV for the competition. Tamara Todevska
Tamara Todevska ( mk, Тамара Тодевска, pronounced , born 1 June 1985), also known mononymously as Tamara, is a Macedonian pop singer. Tamara began her music career in 2003 following the release of her debut studio album '' Sino''. She has won on various music competitions throughout her career such as MAKFest in 2006 and Skopje Fest in 2007. She has represented the Republic of North Macedonia in the Eurovision Song Contest on two occasions; in 2008, where she failed to qualify for the finals, performing the song " Let Me Love You" with Vrčak and Adrian Gaxha, and in 2019, she placed seventh in the final with the song " Proud", earning the country their best result in the contest ever. Risto Samardžiev
Risto Samardžiev (Macedonian: Ристо Самарџиев), born 17 August 1964 in Skopje, is a Macedonian singer and songwriter. He started his musical career when he was 16 years old. He formed the Cilindar group in 1981, which was one of the first New Wave rock bands in the Socialist Republic of Macedonia. He was also the frontman of New Romantic group Haos in Laos. In 1987 he was invited to perform on MakFest, the largest music festival in the country. The song he performed, Chilli Willi (Чили Вили) then became a hit in Macedonia. After that performance he continued to work independently, appearing in festivals as well as in bands (such as Memorija.) North Macedonia In The Eurovision Song Contest
North Macedonia, previously presented in the contest as the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia (F.Y.R. Macedonia), has participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 21 times since its official debut in 1998. The Eurovision Song Contest 2004 was the 49th edition of the Eurovision Song Contest. It took place in Istanbul, Turkey, following the country's victory at the with the song "Everyway That I Can" by Sertab Erener. Organised by the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) and host broadcaster Turkish Radio and Television Corporation (TRT), the contest was held at the Abdi İpekçi Arena, and, for the first time, consisted of a semi-final on 12 May, and a final on 15 May 2004.
