David John "Skippy" Parsons (born 17 May 1959 in Devonport, Tasmania), is a retired Australian racing driver, who, while never a full-time racing driver, drove for some of the leading racing teams in Australia including the Holden Dealer Team, Perkins Engineering, Glenn Seton Racing and Gibson Motorsport. Elmer, or Elbert, "Skippy" Williams (July 27, 1916 – February 28, 1994) was an American jazz tenor saxophonist and musical arranger. First credited as the arranger for some July 12, 1939 recordings for Earl Hines and His Orchestra, Skippy Williams is best remembered as the substitute for Ben Webster in Duke Ellington's orchestra. Replacing Webster in August 1943, Williams appears on Ellington's Carnegie Hall recordings in December 1943. Lucian Cary "Skippy" Whitaker (August 29, 1930 – August 1990) was an American professional basketball player. He won an NCAA championship at the University of Kentucky in 1951 NCAA Men's Division I Basketball Tournament, 1951 and played briefly in the National Basketball Association (NBA). Whitaker, a 6'1 guard, played collegiately at Kentucky Wildcats men's basketball, Kentucky for Adolph Rupp. As a junior, he was a member of the Wildcats' 1950–51 Kentucky Wildcats men's basketball team, 1951 national championship team. Whitaker was drafted by the Indianapolis Olympians in the 1952 NBA draft. He served as a second lieutenant in the United States Marine Corps after his graduation from the University of Kentucky in May 1952. Whitaker played three games for the Boston Celtics during the 1954–55 NBA season. He scored 2 points in his 15 total minutes in the NBA. William "Skippy" Rohan (July 5, 1871 - January 8, 1916) was a St. Louis gangster and an original member of Egan's Rats. Born as William J. Ruane, Rohan grew up in North St. Louis's "Kerry Patch" neighborhood. As a young man, he found his way into many of the street gangs inhabiting his district. "Skippy" was known as a tough street fighter with nerves of steel. He didn't hesitate to attack police officers who attempted to stop him from committing crimes. Despite having a prominent chipped front tooth, Rohan was considered a ladies' man. People often commented on his half-lidded eyelids, which gave him a perpetually sleepy expression. Lloyd Valdemar "Skippy" Baxter (December 6, 1919 – December 18, 2012) was an American figure skater. Born in Saskatchewan, Canada, his family moved to Oakland, California when he was 1 year of age. Skippy started his skating career as a speed skater. Often winning awards as a youth Speed skater in Oakland, California. Then later, he won two medals at the 1940 United States Figure Skating Championships: a bronze in men's singles and a silver in pair skating with Hedy Stenuf.
