Skip E. Lowe
Sammy Labella (June 6, 1929 – September 22, 2014), better known by his stage name Skip E. Lowe, was an American stand-up comedian, talk show host and actor. Career Prior to adopting his now familiar stage name, LaBella worked as a stand-up comic, impressionist and master of ceremonies, m.c. As early as 1958, he performed in a number of Pittsburgh venues, most notably Lenny Litman's Copa, where he opened for Lambert, Hendricks and Ross and Dakota Staton. The following summer saw a number of engagements in New York State, and it was in July 1959 that LaBella made his first appearance as Skip E. Lowe, at Glen Casino in Williamsville, New York, Williamsville. Beginning in 1978, he hosted ''Skip E. Lowe Looks at Hollywood'', a weekly talk show for Public-access television, public-access cable television that aired in Los Angeles and New York City. Greenville is a city in and the county seat of Washington County, Mississippi, United States. The population was 34,400 at the 2010 census. Jiminy Glick is a fictional character portrayed by Martin Short in the TV series ''Primetime Glick'' (2001–2003), the subsequent 2004 film ''Jiminy Glick in Lalawood,'' and Short's Broadway show '' Martin Short: Fame Becomes Me''. He began as a recurring character on ''The Martin Short Show''. When that show was canceled, he was spun off into his own series, ''Primetime Glick'', which ran for three seasons. ''Prime Suspect'' is a 1989 American thriller directed by Bruce Kimmel (using the pseudonym Mark Rutland, as he was brought in after the original director (Thomas Constantinides) proved unequal to the task) and produced by Alain Silver and Patrick Regan. Bruce Kimmel also composed the underscore. The film stars Don Blakely, Tom Bresnahan and Ann Dane. Only 15 to 20 minutes of this 90 minute film remain of Constantinides' work. Kimmel was brought in on one day's notice and finished the film as a favor to his friends Alain Silver and Patrick Regan, with whom he had worked many times. The script was by Constantinides. The resulting film wasn't exactly poorly received, as it went straight to home video and no reviews of it seem to exist. ''Bare Knuckles'' is a 1977 blaxploitation film, starring Robert Viharo, Sherry Jackson and Gloria Hendry. The film was written and directed by Don Edmonds. Plot L.A. bounty hunter, Zachary Kane, is on the hunt for a masked serial killer on the loose. Production Director Edmonds said he didn't get any permits for the movie, it was made for $25,000 with another $25,000 spent for goods and services. Legacy It is one of the films that have inspired Quentin Tarantino, and it was selected by Tarantino himself to be shown at his Los Angeles Grindhouse Festival in 2007. In May 2008, it was being shown by Robert Viharo's son, Will, as part of his long-running Thrillville theater program.
