Skhodnenskaya
Skhodnenskaya (russian: Сходненская) is a station on the Tagansko-Krasnopresnenskaya Line of the Moscow Metro. The station is a single vault, which was a significant engineering achievement and a change from the typical functionality design of the 1960s. Actually, Moscow's history of single vault stations began 40 years prior to Skhodnenskaya with Biblioteka Imeni Lenina which opened along with the Metro itself in 1935. Built to a design of the Paris Métro, however, problems of keeping the structure from collapse and pouring in bitumen called for no repeat of such methods. The second single vault, Aeroport (Moscow Metro), Aeroport, opened in 1938, was built with the cut and cover method, and was not successful. The delicacy required when preparing and handling heavy monolithic concrete vault blocks was labour-intensive and in that period of industrialisation, was not cost affective. Moscow Metro Station
There are 250 active stations of the Moscow Metro. Of these, 209 on Moscow Metro proper, and some additional ones that are marketed by Moscow Metro: 6 stations of Moscow Monorail and 31 stations of the Moscow Central Circle. Two stations have been closed. As of 2017 several new stations are under construction or being planned. One station is reserved for future service ( Delovoy Tsentr for the Bolshaya Koltsevaya line). Yuzhnoye Tushino District (russian: Южное Тушино райо́н, lit. ''South Tushino'') is an administrative district (raion) of North-Western Administrative Okrug, and one of the 125 raions of Moscow, Russia. Aeroport (Moscow Metro)
Aeroport (russian: Аэропо́рт, ) is a Moscow Metro station on the Zamoskvoretskaya Line. Its name, literally meaning ''airport'', owes to the nearby Khodynka Aerodrome, Moscow's first airport, no longer in operation. Now, there is a bus terminal (Goraerovokzal, ''Гораэровокзал'') which has regular service to Moscow's principal airports. Opened as part of the second stage on 11 September 1938, the station features a single-vault design. It was built using a cut-and cover method. Concrete segments of the vault were pre-cast and then lowered into the station. Architects B. Vilensky and V. Biblioteka Imeni Lenina
Biblioteka Imeni Lenina (russian: Библиоте́ка и́мени Ле́нина, en, Lenin Library) is a station on the Sokolnicheskaya Line of the Moscow Metro. The station was opened on 15 May 1935 as a part of the first stage of the Metro. It is situated in the very centre of the city under Mokhovaya Street, and is named for the nearby Russian State Library (named the Lenin Library from 1925 until 1992). Its architects were A. I. Gontskevich and S. Sulin. To prevent the disruption of traffic, Biblioteka Imeni Lenina was built using underground excavation rather than cut and cover even though the station ceiling is just two metres (6.5 ft) below ground level.
