Skepta (rapper)
Chief Joseph Olaitan Adenuga Jr. (born 19 September 1982), known professionally as Skepta, is a British-Nigerian grime MC, rapper and record producer. Alongside his younger brother Jme, he briefly joined Roll Deep before they became founding members of Boy Better Know in 2005. With Boy Better Know, Skepta clashed with fellow MC Devilman for the video release ''Lord of the Mics 2'', in what is remembered as one of the biggest clashes in grime history. Skepta released his debut studio album ''Greatest Hits'' in 2007 and his second album, ''Microphone Champion'' in 2009, both independently; while his third studio album ''Doin' It Again'' was released in 2011 by AATW. He made his acting debut in the 2015 film '' Anti-Social''. Skepta's fourth studio album, '' Konnichiwa'' (2016), featured the hit singles " That's Not Me" and " Shutdown". ''Konnichiwa'' is the fourth studio album by British rapper Skepta. The title is the greeting "hello" in the Japanese language. After numerous delays, it was released on 6 May 2016 by Boy Better Know. ''Konnichiwa'' features guest appearances from Jme, Boy Better Know, D Double E, Novelist, Wiley, Chip, Pharrell Williams, ASAP Nast and Young Lord. Lord Of The Mics
Lord of the Mics (also known as LOTM) is a series of recorded grime clashes, headed by Jammer and Chad ‘Ratty’ Stennett. Each edition of LOTM features grime MC's participating in recorded clashes, where they 'battle' each other over grime instrumentals. Various notable grime artists have participated in Lord of the Mics, such as Skepta, Wiley, Kano, P Money, Big H, and Canadian MC Tre Mission. LOTM was originally launched in 2004. The first clash to be filmed for LOTM, Wiley versus Kano, was filmed in Jammer's basement. The series was originally only published via DVD. LOTM was the first platform that released filmed grime clashes. Clashing is considered to be an important aspect of grime music due to the influence of Jamaican sound clashing.
