The Pack (group)
The Pack was a hip hop group formed in Berkeley, California in 2004. The group consisted of Lil B (Brandon McCartney), Young L (Lloyd Omadhebo), Stunnaman (Keith Jenkins), and Lil Uno (Damonte Johnson). They all recorded together for over a year at Young L's home studio where they released their first two mixtapes '' Wolfpack Muzik Vol. 1'' and '' Wolfpack Muzik Vol. 2''. The Pack expanded their fanbase and eventually got signed to a major label, when Too Short signed The Pack to his Jive Records-distributed label Up All Nite Records. The Pack is usually known for their skateboard raps and the sexually explicit content of many of their songs. The group is best known for the track "Vans". Hyphy
The term hyphy ( ) is Oakland slang meaning "hyperactive". More specifically, it is an adjective describing the hip hop music and the culture associated with the area. The term was first coined by Oakland rapper Keak da Sneak. History The hyphy culture emerged in the late 1990s in Oakland before rising to prominence throughout the wider Bay Area in the early 2000s. It is distinguished by gritty, pounding rhythms, and has been compared to crunk music. San Jose producer Traxamillion is largely considered the first producer to create hyphy style music, having produced songs such as Keak Da Sneak’s “Super Hyphy”, which established the term hyphy. Jive Records was an American independent record label founded by Clive Calder in 1981 as a subsidiary to the Zomba Group. In the US, the label had offices in New York City and Chicago. ''Based Boys'' is the debut album by Bay Area rap group The Pack. The album was released on October 30, 2007, by Jive Records. Music videos The first video was shot for "In My Car" in Los Angeles by famed director Dale "Rage" Resteghini. The second video was shot on December 13, 2007, in New York for "I Look Good".
