''Skateboard'' is a 1978 American sports drama film directed by George Gage and starring Allen Garfield and Leif Garrett. Tony Alva features in a cameo as "Tony Bluetile". Overview Manny Bloom, a Hollywood agent, finds himself in debt to Sol, a powerful bookie. To make a fast buck, he creates a team of exceptionally talented skateboarders and enters them in a downhill race. If they win, they will get $20,000. Alexander Gordon Jump (April 1, 1932 – September 22, 2003) was an American actor best known as the clueless, yet occasionally wise, radio station manager Arthur "Big Guy" Carlson in the TV series ''WKRP in Cincinnati'' and the incompetent Chief of Police Tinkler in the sitcom ''Soap''. Antony Deago Carbone (July 15, 1925 – October 7, 2020) was an American film and television actor. Biography Carbone was born as Antonio Giuseppe Carmelo Carbone in Calabria, Italy on July 15, 1925. His family moved to Syracuse, New York when he was a young boy, and his name was changed to Antony Deago Carbone. The family later relocated to Los Angeles, California. After graduating from Los Angeles State College, he moved to New York City to study drama with Harold Clurman and Eva Le Gallienne. He started his professional acting career in small parts in various Broadway productions before moving into film and television. Allen Garfield (born Allen Goorwitz; November 22, 1939 – April 7, 2020) was an American film and television actor. Early life Garfield was born in Newark, New Jersey, to a Jewish family, the son of Alice ( née Lavroff) and Philip Goorwitz. He had one sister, Lois. A 1957 graduate of Weequahic High School, he was a sports reporter and Golden Gloves boxer before becoming an actor. He attended The Actors Studio in New York City, studying with both Lee Strasberg and Elia Kazan, and worked on stage before acting in film.
