La Ronde () is an amusement park in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, built as the entertainment complex for Expo 67, the 1967 World Fair. Today, it is operated by Six Flags under an emphyteutic lease with the City of Montreal, which expires in 2065. It is the largest amusement park in Quebec and second largest in Canada. Cobra was a stand-up roller coaster located at La Ronde amusement park in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Built by Intamin, Cobra opened to the public in 1988 at Skara Sommarland amusement park, where it operated until 1994. The ride was manufactured by S&S Worldwide (now S&S – Sansei Technologies) as the company's only Free Fly model, and it opened to the public in May 2009. History On 1 July 2008, a patent was filed by Timothy R. Jacobi and Stanley J. Checketts for a "''Longitudinally Spinning Suspension Roller Coaster''".
