Carpathian (band)
Carpathian were an Australian hardcore band formed in Melbourne in 2003. The band disbanded in 2011, with its final line-up comprising vocalist Martin Kirby, guitarists Josh Manitta and Lloyd Carroll, bass guitarist Ed Redclift and drummer David Bichard. Carpathian was made up of both straight edge and non-straight edge members. The band started out as a metalcore band, but by the time of their second album ''Isolation'', moved into melodic hardcore territory. ''Isolation'' was their highest charting release, reaching No. 19 on the ARIA Charts. Legendary UK post-punk band Joy Division influenced their late career work, as evidenced by the band using two Joy Division songs as track titles on ''Isolation'' ("Isolation" and "Ceremony"), and the band's cover of Joy Division's "Shadowplay" on the ''Wanderlust'' 7". Wermlands Brygghus
Wermlands Brygghus is a microbrewery located in Kristinehamn, Värmland, in the west of central Sweden. The brewery was founded in 2012 by Hans and Christina Skan. It is the first microbrewery in Värmland and the first operating brewery in Kristinehamn since 1957, when the then last operating brewery was taken over by Pripps and subsequently closed. Brewing started in 2013 and the first beer brewed was the ''Wermlands Premiärbrygd''. The Wermlands Premiärbrygd was originally intended to be a one-time production, but has since become brewed on regular basis. Wermlands Brygghus has seen substantial growth since its founding. Yearly production was 100,000 liters in 2016, compared to 45,000 liters in 2013. By 2016, the brewery had two full-time employees and two part-time employees. Chewton Glen
Chewton Glen is a Hotel rating, five star hotel and spa located on the edge of the New Forest National Park on the South Coast of England. It is a member of the Relais & Châteaux association and is part of the Iconic Luxury Hotels group, which includes Cliveden House, 11 Cadogan Gardens and The Lygon Arms. Sylvia Skan
Sylvia Winifred Skan (15 August 1897 – 10 June 1972) was an English applied mathematician. She is known for her work on aerodynamics, and in particular for the Falkner–Skan boundary layer in the fluid mechanics of airflow past a wedge-shaped obstacle, which she wrote about with V. M. Falkner in 1930, and for the associated Falkner–Skan equation. Skan was born in Bickenhill on 15 August 1897, the oldest of five children of botanist and of his wife Jane Alkins. She does not appear to have earned a university degree. By 1923 she was working for the Aerodynamics Department of the National Physical Laboratory (United Kingdom), National Physical Laboratory, where she carried out the entirety of her career. Škan
Škan is an American extreme metal band formed in 2013. Biography Škan began as the solo studio project of Joseph Merino on November 11 of 2011. On November 2 of 2013, Škan was formed as a live entity. Škan's self released an EP, entitled "The Old King”, on the 11th of November 2013, which quickly gained a loyal following and praise from many supporters across the world who appreciated the uncompromising sound and vision. A Skan' (Old Russian: съкань, ''s''kan''', which is in turn from the verb съкати, ''s''kati'', "twist", "twist into a single or a few strands") is the Russian counterpart of a filigree. It is a kind of jewelry art with a thin layer of gold, silver or copper wire wound in cords or soldered on a metal background. SKA-Neftyanik (russian: СКА-Нефтяник) is a professional bandy club from Khabarovsk, Russia, established in 1947. It plays in the Russian Bandy Super League, the top division of Russian bandy. The club colours are yellow, red and black.
