Jacobus Nicolaas (Sjaak) Brinkkemper (born Monnickendam, 18 January 1958) is a Dutch computer scientist, and Full Professor of organisation and information at the Department of Information and Computing Sciences of Utrecht University. Biography Brinkkemper received a BA from the University of Amsterdam in 1980 and an MSc from the Radboud University Nijmegen in 1984, both in Mathematics. In 1990 he received a PhD at the same university with his thesis ''Formalisation of information systems modelling'', supervised by Eckhard Falkenberg and Alex Verrijn Stuart. In 1984 he became an assistant professor at the department of Informatics at the Radboud University. In 1992 he became associate professor at the University of Twente. In addition, he has been a process architect at Baan from 1996 to 2002 and a consultant at Emendas for another year. Jakob Frederik "Sjaak" Köhler (2 October 1902 – 19 June 1970) was a Dutch water polo player and swimmer. He finished in seventh and fifth place with the Dutch water polo team at the 1924 and 1928 Olympics; at both Games he played three matches and scored four and two goals, respectively. In 1924 he also competed in two freestyle swimming events (400 m and 4×200 m relay), but failed to reach the finals. Sjaak Lucassen (born October 2, 1961) is a Dutch long-distance motorcycle rider. Travels Between 1995 and 1998 he traveled on a Honda Fireblade and then between 2001 and 2006 he traveled around the world on a Yamaha YZF-R1, nicknamed Florentina. One journalist deemed the Yamaha sportbike to be "by its nature" inappropriate for the journey's demands of "off-road traveling, desert and deep water crossing". His solo travels of the 2000s are documented in the film ''Sjaak the World'' and the book ''Life on 2 wheels'' written by Lucassen. Klaas Pieter "Sjaak" Pieters (born 22 July 1957) is a retired Dutch track cyclist who was active between 1976 and 1985. He competed at the 1976 Summer Olympics in the sprint, but failed to reach the final. He won two bronze medals in the tandem at world championships, in 1978 and 1982. Sjaak Polak (born 18 February 1976 in The Hague) is a Dutch former footballer and current manager. Club career An outspoken wingback and freekick specialist, Polak previously played for Excelsior Rotterdam, FC Twente, and ADO Den Haag. In May 2008, Sparta announced that they would not extend his contract. He joined Twente in January 2001 and went on to pick up a winner's medal when Twente won the 2001 KNVB Cup after a penalty shoot-out (in which he scored). Jesaia Swart (born 3 July 1938), commonly known as Sjaak Swart, is a Dutch former professional footballer who played as a winger for Ajax. During his career at Ajax, he amassed a total of almost 600 matches, a record for the club. Biography Swart is Jewish and was born in Muiderberg, a fishing village about 20 kilometers east of Amsterdam. His Jewish fisherman father sold herring at the market. As a child, he and his father concealed themselves as non-Jews during the Nazi occupation of the Netherlands from 1940 to 1945, hiding from Germans and Dutch colluders, who rounded up any Jews; nearly 75 per cent of the Dutch Jewish population was killed in those years. Nicknamed ''Mr. Ajax'', he played for Ajax a total of almost 600 matches, a record for the club, starting in 1956. He was part of their European Cup victories in 1971, 1972, 1973. Jacob "Sjaak" Troost (born 28 August 1959) is a Dutch retired footballer who played as a defender. Club career Born in Pernis, South Holland, Troost played his entire career with local Feyenoord, making his Eredivisie debut on 9 April 1978 in a 0–1 away loss against FC Volendam and becoming an undisputed starter from the 1981–82 season onwards.
