Siyana Vasileva ( bg, Сияна Василева; born 3 March 1996) is a retired Azerbaijani group rhythmic gymnast from Bulgaria. She is the 2014 European 3 Balls + 2 Ribbons silver and the 2018 European 3 Balls + 2 Ropes bronze medalist. Career Senior She competed at the European Championships in 2014 (Baku), where she was placed 2nd in the apparatus final with 3 ribbons and 2 balls. She also competed at the European Championships 2018 in Guadalarajara, Spain and was placed 3rd in the apparatus final with 3 balls and 2 ropes. She competed the 2018 World Championships in Sofia, Bulgaria, where she was placed 7th in Group All-around competition. She was also part of the group that took 8th place in All-around at the 2019 World Championships in Baku, Azerbaijan. The 25th Rhythmic Gymnastics European Championships was opened on May 15, 2009, in Baku, Azerbaijan in the Heydar Aliyev Sports-Concert Complex and ended on May 17. 186 gymnasts from 32 countries were scheduled to participate. Mariana Vasileva-Toteva ( bg, Мариана Василева Тотева, born 6 July 1974 in Bulgaria) is an Azerbaijani rhythmic gymnastics trainer of Bulgarian origin who is the Deputy of Minister of Youth and Sports of Azerbaijan Head coach of the Azerbaijan Rhythmic Gymnastics Federation. Career Vasileva was a former Bulgarian rhythmic gymnast and worked as a coach in Levski club in Sofia, Bulgaria. In 2007, she received an invitation from the Azerbaijan Gymnastics Federation to work as coach, not long after; she relocated in Baku, Azerbaijan with her immediate family (husband and 2 children). Rhythmic Gymnastics
Rhythmic gymnastics is a sport in which gymnasts perform on a floor with an apparatus: hoop, ball, clubs, ribbon. The sport combines elements of gymnastics, dance and calisthenics; gymnasts must be strong, flexible, agile, dexterous and coordinated. Rhythmic gymnastics is governed by the International Gymnastics Federation (FIG), which first recognized it as a sport in 1963. Liubov Viktorovna Charkashyna ( be, Любоў Віктараўна Чаркашына; russian: Любовь Викторовна Черкашина, born December 23, 1987) is a retired Belarusian individual rhythmic gymnast. She is the 2012 Olympic all-around bronze medalist, and the 2011 European ball and clubs champion. Competitive career Charkashyna started training in rhythmic gymnastics at a relatively late age, when she was nine years old. She made her senior international debut in 2003. She had a successful 2007 season, winning bronze in ribbon at the Grand Prix Final in Innsbruck, Austria. Charkashyna competed at the 2008 Summer Olympics and placed 15th in qualifications. 2019 Rhythmic Gymnastics World Championships
The 2019 Rhythmic Gymnastics World Championships was held in Baku, Azerbaijan from 16 September to 22 September 2019. The competition took place at the National Gymnastics Arena and served as a qualifier to the 2020 Olympic Games. There were Olympic berths awarded to 16 individuals and 5 groups. There were 301 participating athletes from 61 countries. Dina Averina from Russia won gold medals in ball, clubs, and ribbon, and Ekaterina Selezneva won the hoop title. Averina, Selezneva and Arina Averina won Russia's tenth consecutive World team title. In the all-around finals, Dina Averina won her third consecutive World all-around title, becoming the fifth rhythmic gymnast to do so.
