Sivert Høyem
Sivert Høyem (born 22 January 1976) is a Norwegian musician, best known as the vocalist of the rock band Madrugada. After the band broke up following the death of Robert Burås in 2007, he has enjoyed success as a solo artist and is also a member of The Volunteers with whom he released the album ''Exiles'' in 2006. Early and personal life Høyem is a son of forestry teacher Asbjørn Høyem and politician Jørun Drevland. He hails from Kleiva in Sortland, and attended Sortland Upper Secondary School before moving to Oslo in 1995. Whilst pursuing a music career he minored in history at the University of Oslo. Music career Madrugada Høyem rose to fame in the late 1990s when Madrugada made their Norwegian breakthrough with debut album Industrial Silence. The band members included Sivert Høyem (vocals), Frode Jacobsen (bass), and Robert Burås (guitar). Sivert Langholm
Sivert Langholm (19 May 1927 – 16 April 2022) was a Norwegian historian. Life and career Sivert Langholm was born in Haugesund, and was the brother of Odd Langholm. He was a cand.philol. by education, and was appointed professor at the University of Oslo in 1976. His main areas of research were 19th-century social history and the history of the university. Langholm also headed the editorial committee of the five-volume work ''Oslo bys historie'', covering the history of Oslo. The five volumes were penned by Arnved Nedkvitne and Per G. Norseng (the period 1000 to 1536), Knut Sprauten (the period 1536 to 1814), Jan Eivind Myhre (the period 1814 to 1900), Knut Kjeldstadli (the period 1900 to 1948) and Edgeir Benum (the period 1948 to the 1990s) respectively. Sivert Andreas Nielsen (1916–2004)
Sivert Andreas Nielsen (24 November 1916 – 17 March 2004) was a Norwegian diplomat, civil servant, state secretary and banker. He is known for shaping Norwegian defence policy in the 1950s, and as ambassador to the United Nations. Early life and career He was born in Copenhagen as a son of professor Konrad Nielsen (1875–1953) and his wife Gudrun Agnes Augusta Müller (1889–1954). He was a paternal grandson of politician Sivert Andreas Nielsen. The family moved to Vettakollen when Nielsen was one year old. He finished his secondary education in 1934, and graduated with the cand.jur. degree in 1940. He also fought in the Norwegian Campaign of the same year. During the subsequent German occupation of Norway, he was arrested by the Nazi occupant authorities in 1941. He was imprisoned at Møllergata 19 from 2 April to 28 June 1941, and then in Grini concentration camp until 15 November. He was then incarcerated in Sachsenhausen concentration camp until March 1945. Sivert Vause Samuelson (21 November 1883 – 18 November 1958) was a South African cricketer who played in one Test in 1910. Samuelson was an off-spin bowler and tail-end right-handed batsman who took five MCC wickets in an innings in his third first-class game and found himself in the Test team for the final match in the 1909–10 series, played at Newlands, Cape Town. He failed to take a wicket as England scored 417, with Jack Hobbs making 187. He batted at No 11 in both innings.
