Sivaranjani (film)
''Sivaranjani'' ( te, శివరంజని) is 1978 Telugu drama film written and directed by Dasari Narayana Rao. The film is about a village girl Sivaranjani who goes on to become a famous film actress, played by Jaya Sudha. Later it was remade in Tamil as ''Natchathiram'' with Sripriya in the leading role in 1980. It is a musical film with lyrics penned by Veturi Sundararama Murthy and Dasam Gopalakrishna . The music score is provided by P. Ramesh Naidu. Plot The film is about a village girl Sivaranjani (Jayasudha), who goes on to become a famous film actress. A small town man, Hari Prasad forms her fan club and starts admiring her. Sivaranjani starts finding her true love in this man. She gives up her career as a film actress, escapes the trauma of limelight and wants to settle down with this man. Dasari Narayana Rao
Dasari Narayana Rao (4 May 1947 – 30 May 2017) was an Indian film director, producer, screenwriter, actor, lyricist, and politician known for his works predominantly in Telugu cinema, in addition to Hindi cinema. He has directed more than 150 feature films in a variety of genres. He holds the '' Limca World Record'' for directing the most number of films in the world. He is known by the moniker ''Darsaka Ratna'' (). His works emphasize social injustice, corruption and gender discrimination. Narayana Rao has received two National Film Awards, nine state Nandi Awards including the Raghupathi Venkaiah Award, and four Filmfare Awards South including the Lifetime Achievement. During his career he had also acted in Telugu, Tamil, and Kannada films. Veturi Sundararama Murthy (29 January 1936 – 22 May 2010), known mononymously by his surname Veturi, was an Indian poet, lyricist and journalist who is popular for writing Telugu songs. His career in the Telugu cinema spanned more than four decades. He was highly admired and cherished for his deep and thoughtful lyrics in Telugu songs. Early life Veturi was born to Chandrasekhar Sastry and Kamalamba in Pedakallepalli, near Challapalli, Krishna into a Telugu Brahmin family.
