''Sigappu Thali'' () is a 1988 Indian Tamil-language film, starring Charan Raj, Ramki, Nishanthi and Saranya Plot Periya Thoppu Panaiyar (Jaiganesh) is the generous and well-loved head of the village. He's raised his daughter Kalamani ( Nishanthi) to be an outspoken tomboy. Periya Thoppu has a wastrel, womanizing younger brother, Chinna Thoppu (R. P. Viswam). Shankar–Ganesh is an Indian music director duo who has worked on Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada movies for around 50 years. Career They started as assistants to Tamil music composers M. S. Jai Ganesh (1946 – 11 February 2001) was an Indian Tamil film actor. He had supporting roles in the films ''Aval Oru Thodar Kathai'' and ''Attukara Alamelu'', among others. His most popular roles have been as a supporting actor or as a villain in films such as '' Thaayillamal Naan Illai'' (1979) and ''Athisaya Piravi'' (1990). He was introduced into the film industry by director K. Balachander in ''Aval Oru Thodar Kathai''. From then on, he acted in many films as hero and also as character actor. Devadasi
In India, a devadasi was a female artist who was dedicated to the worship and service of a deity or a temple for the rest of her life. The dedication took place in a ceremony that was somewhat similar to a marriage ceremony. In addition to taking care of the temple and performing rituals, these women also learned and practiced classical Indian artistic traditions such as Bharatanatyam, Mohiniyattam, Kuchipudi, and Odissi. Their social status was high as dance and music were an essential part of temple worship. Between the sixth and thirteenth centuries, Devadasis had a high rank and dignity in society and were exceptionally affluent as they were seen as the protectors of the arts.
