''Sivakasi'' is a 2005 Indian Tamil-language action dramedy film written and directed by Perarasu. The film stars Vijay in the main lead role, while Asin and Prakash Raj play supporting roles. The film's music is composed by Srikanth Deva, while the background score was composed by his father Deva. The film released on 1 November 2005 during Diwali. The film received positive reviews from the critics, ran for 150 days in theatres and performed commercially well. In 2007, the film was remade in Telugu and Bengali. Plot Sivakasi is a welder known for keeping rowdies in check. One day he chastises a jeweler's daughter, Hema, for wearing "skimpy clothing." After she instigates a false case against him, he humiliates her father by declaring his love for her at a wedding. In response, Hema claims he caused her sister's suicide. Perarasu
Perarasu (born 8 January 1967) is an Indian film director who works primarily in Tamil film industry. As a director, he is best known for his commercial Tamil movies with actors Vijay and Bharath Srinivasan. He has also been credited as an actor, music director, singer and lyricist in some of his ventures. Personal life Perarasu, was born on 8 January 1967 in Natarasankottai in Sivaganga district, Tamil Nadu. Perarasu, married Shanthi at Nattarasankottai on June 11, 2000. A female child Viruthika was born to them in July 2001. When Shanthi conceived a second time, she was given abortion pills, she fell ill and was sent by Perarasu to her parents. ''Thirupaachi'' is a 2005 Indian Tamil-language action film written and directed by Perarasu. The film stars Vijay, Trisha and Mallika, with Livingston, Pasupathy, Benjamin, Kota Srinivasa Rao, Vaiyapuri and Manoj K. Jayan in other roles. Chaya Singh made a guest appearance in a song. Periya Karuppu Thevar
Periya Karuppa Thevar (1936 - 18 September 2012) was a Tamil film character artiste and folk singer who appeared in Tamil-language films. Film career PKT was part of the drama troupe floated by veteran Sankaradoss Swamigal more than fifty years ago. Like many actors of his era, he had made the grade to films as an actor after toiling hard on stage where he used to be quite popular for his acting as well as in singing many folk songs. Theni Kunjarammal (died 18 April 2008) was an Indian actress and playback singer who has worked in the Tamil film industry. As a playback singer, she has worked extensively with A. R. Rahman during the late 1990s and early 2000s for folk songs, while also regularly collaborating with Harris Jayaraj.
