Sirajul Islam
Sirajul Islam is Bangladeshi historian, writer, columnist, professor and academician. He is the chairman of the Board of Editors of Banglapedia, the national encyclopedia of Bangladesh, and the editor of the Journal of the Asiatic Society of Bangladesh. He is also famous for his works on agriculture, British era land tenure and social history of Bengal. Career Sirajul Islam served as a professor of history department at the University of Dhaka. He gave up his day job five years before the formal date of retirement, to make time for Banglapedia, in 2000. A corresponding fellow of the Royal Historical Society, Islam was a Senior Commonwealth Staff Fellow at the University of London (1978–79), a Senior Fulbright Scholar at Urbana-Champaign (1990–91), and a British Academy Visiting Professor (2004). Asiatic Society Of Bangladesh
The Asiatic Society of Bangladesh is a non political and non profit research organisation registered under both Society Act of 1864 and NGO Bureau, Government of Bangladesh. The Asiatic Society of Bangladesh was established as the Asiatic Society of East Pakistan in Dhaka in 1952 by a number of Muslim leaders, and renamed in 1972. Ahmed Hasan Dani, a noted Muslim historian and archaeologist of Pakistan played an important role in founding this society. He was assisted by Muhammad Shahidullah, a Bengali linguist. The society is housed in Nimtali, walking distance from the Curzon Hall of Dhaka University, locality of Old Dhaka. British Academy

AKM Nurul Islam (botanist)
AKM Nurul Islam (27 October 1928 – 1 July 2006) was a Bangladeshi botanist and academician. He was selected as the National Professor of Bangladesh in 2006. He was a Fellow of Bangladesh Academy of Sciences since 1980 and Bangladesh Botanical Society since 1997. Education Islam passed matriculation and intermediate science examinations from KD High School and Rajshahi Government College in 1945 and 1947 respectively. He earned his bachelor's from Rajshahi Government College in 1949 and master's from University of Dhaka in 1951. He then completed his Ph.D. in physiology from Michigan State University. The University of Dhaka (also known as Dhaka University, or DU) is a public research university located in Dhaka, Bangladesh. It is the oldest university in Bangladesh.
