Sir John Holland, 1st Baronet (October 1603 – 19 January 1701) was an English politician who sat in the House of Commons at various times between 1640 and 1679. Holland was the son of Sir Thomas Holland of Quiddenham, Norfolk and his wife Mary Knyvet, daughter of Sir Thomas Knyvet. The House of Commons of England was the lower house of the Parliament of England (which incorporated Wales) from its development in the 14th century to the union of England and Scotland in 1707, when it was replaced by the House of Commons of Great Britain after the 1707 Act of Union was passed in both the English and Scottish parliaments at the time. Edmund Moundeford
Sir Edmund Moundeford (1596 – May 1643) was an English politician who sat in the House of Commons at various times between 1628 and 1643. Moundeford was the son of Sir Edmund Moundeford of Mundford and Hockwold, Norfolk, and his first wife Frances Gawdy, daughter of Sir Thomas Gawdy of Claxton, Norfolk. He attended school at Wymondham, Norfolk under Mr Eston and was admitted at Caius College, Cambridge on 16 January 1612 aged 16. In 1628, he was elected Member of Parliament for Thetford and sat until 1629 when King Charles I of England decided to rule without parliament for eleven years. He was knighted on 9 December 1629. He was a friend of John Winthrop and was interested in trying to found a Puritan colony in the Caribbean. In April 1640, Moundeford was elected MP for Norfolk in the Short Parliament. A baronet ( or ; abbreviated Bart or Bt) or the female equivalent, a baronetess (, , or ; abbreviation Btss), is the holder of a baronetcy, a hereditary title awarded by the British Crown. The title of baronet is mentioned as early as the 14th century, however in its current usage was created by James I of England in 1611 as a means of raising funds for the crown. A baronetcy is the only British hereditary honour that is not a peerage, with the exception of the Anglo-Irish Black Knights, White Knights, and Green Knights (of whom only the Green Knights are extant). Robert Steward (MP)
Sir Robert Steward (1617–1672), of Lincoln's Inn and King's Lynn, Norfolk, was an English politician. He was the 3rd son of Thomas Steward of Barton Mills, Suffolk and educated at Mildenhall Grammar School, Bury St Edmunds Grammar School, Sidney Sussex College, Cambridge (1633) and Lincoln's Inn (1641) where he was called to the bar in 1651. He was the Recorder for King's Lynn from 1660 to his death. Robert Paston, 1st Earl Of Yarmouth
Robert Paston, 1st Earl of Yarmouth, FRS (29 May 1631 – 8 March 1683) was an English scientist and politician who sat in the House of Commons between 1660 and 1673 when he was created Viscount Yarmouth. He was created Earl of Yarmouth in 1679. Life Paston was the son of Sir William Paston, 1st Baronet of Oxnead and his first wife Lady Katherine Bertie, daughter of Robert Bertie, 1st Earl of Lindsey. He was educated at Westminster School and was a student of Trinity College, Cambridge in 1646. He travelled abroad in France. In 1660 he was elected Member of Parliament (MP) for Thetford in the Convention Parliament. He was knighted on 27 May 1660. In 1661 Paston was elected MP for Castle Rising and sat until 1673, when he had to relinquish his seat on being raised to the peerage as Viscount Yarmouth.
