Sir Edmund Knowles Lacon, 2nd Baronet
Sir Edmund Knowles Lacon, 2nd Baronet (28 February 1780 – 3 June 1839) of Ormesby House (now Ormesby Old Hall), near Great Yarmouth, Norfolk was an English Mayor of Great Yarmouth, High Sheriff of Norfolk and Member of Parliament. He was the only son of Sir Edmund Lacon, 1st Baronet of Ormesby House and educated at William Gilpin (priest), Gilpin's School in Cheam School, Cheam, Eton College (1793) and Emmanuel College, Cambridge 1797–1801 before entering Lincoln's Inn in 1799 to study law. He succeeded his father in 1820. He was elected Mayor of Great Yarmouth for 1807 and Member of Parliament for Great Yarmouth (UK Parliament constituency), Great Yarmouth in 1812, sitting until 1818. He was picked High Sheriff of Norfolk for 1823–24. He married in 1804 Eliza Dixon, the daughter and coheiress of Thomas Beecroft of Saxthorpe Hall, Norfolk and had 3 sons and 3 daughters. Ormesby is an area which is split between Borough of Middlesbrough and Redcar and Cleveland, Borough of Redcar and Cleveland in North Yorkshire, England. Thomas William Anson, 1st Earl of Lichfield PC (20 October 1795 – 18 March 1854), previously known as The Viscount Anson from 1818 to 1831, was a British Whig politician from the Anson family. He served under Lord Grey and Lord Melbourne as Master of the Buckhounds between 1830 and 1834 and under Melbourne Postmaster General between 1835 and 1841. His gambling and lavish entertaining got him heavily into debt and he was forced to sell off the entire contents of his Shugborough Hall estate. Sir Edmund Henry Knowles Lacon, 3rd Baronet (14 August 1807 – 2 December 1888) was an English businessman and liberal Conservative politician who sat in the House of Commons in two periods between 1852 and 1885. Early life Lacon was the son of Sir Edmund Knowles Lacon, 2nd Baronet, and his wife Eliza Beecroft, daughter of Thomas Beecroft of Saxthorpe Hall.
