Sinners (1920 Film)
''Sinners'' is a lost 1920 American silent drama film based on a play of the same name by Owen Davis. The play was produced by William A. Brady and starred his daughter Alice Brady who also stars in this film. The Realart Company produced and released the film. Alice Brady's husband James Crane appears in this picture as well as in her next film, ''A Dark Lantern''. Plot Based upon a review in a film publication, the plot contrasts the corrupt gay life of the city with the dignity and wholesome life of people in the country. When Mary Horton (Brady) goes to the city seeking work but fails to find it, she is befriended by Hilda Newton (Anderson), a woman of questionable reputation. The friends of this woman are the sinners of the film and when word of Mary's association with them reaches home, there are some false accusations made against Mary. Kenneth Seymour Webb (16 October 1885 New York City – 6 March 1966 Hollywood, California) was an American film director, screenwriter, and composer noted for directing a number of films in the early age of the American film industry. Frank Losee
Frank Losee (June 12, 1856 – November 14, 1937) was an American stage and screen actor. A veteran of the Broadway stage he began in silent films in 1915. Often he played the father of Mary Pickford, Pauline Frederick and Marguerite Clark. Career Losee began as a professional actor with Hooley's Stock company, and he went on to act with several stock theater groups. Robert Schable (August 31, 1873 – July 7, 1947) was an American stage and screen actor as well as a stage manager from Hamilton, Ohio. Biography A longtime stage player from the Charles Frohman company since the 1890s, Schable began in silent films in 1919. In films he often played comedic, character parts or men with a European flair. He died, from Ptomaine poisoning, in Hollywood in 1947. Alternately ''IMDb'' has his death as a suicide. Two films Schable appeared in have been restored, ''Sherlock Holmes'' (1922) and ''The Man and the Moment'' (1929).
