Single Room Furnished
''Single Room Furnished'' is a 1968 drama film featuring Jayne Mansfield in her final "filmed" starring role. The film is based on the stage play of the same title by Gerald Sanford, adapted by Matt Cimber, who also directed (credited on-screen as "Matteo Ottaviano"). The screenplay is by Michael Musto. Mansfield plays three different complex characters and over time many have considered this film to contain one of Mansfield's finest performances as she demonstrates her dramatic acting abilities, something she had longed to do throughout her career. Matt Cimber (born Thomas Vitale Ottaviano; 1936) is an American Film producer, producer, Film director, director, Screenwriter, writer, and occasional actor in films, television, and theatre. He is known for directing Film genre, genre films including ''The Candy Tangerine Man, The Witch Who Came from the Sea,'' ''Hundra,'' and the controversial drama ''Butterfly (1982 film), Butterfly.'' Cimber has been called "an unsung hero of 70s exploitation cinema." ''The Challenge'', released as ''It Takes a Thief'' in the United States, is a 1960 British neo noir crime film directed by John Gilling and starring Jayne Mansfield and Anthony Quayle. The film was shot in England from 12 October to around December 1959. Mansfield flew back to America on the 16th, after she finished filming. Plot Mansfield plays Billy, the ruthless gang leader who persuades Maxton to take part in a big robbery. Maxton is shopped and convicted of robbery. Maxton serves his time, returns home to his son.
