Gautam Singhania
Gautam Vijaypat Singhania (born 9 September 1965) is an Indian industrialist. He is the chairman and managing director of the Raymond Group, the world's largest producer of suiting fabric. Biography Gautam Singhania was born in an Marwari industrialist family, to Vijaypat Singhania and Ashabai Singhania. He is an alumnus of St. Mary's School, Mumbai and Cathedral and John Connon School. He is also an alumnus of H.R. College in Churchgate, Mumbai Gautam Singhania joined the Singhania family's JK Group of companies in 1986. He later joined the family's Raymond Group, becoming a director in 1990, the managing director in July 1999, and the chairman in September 2000. He restructured the group and sold Raymond's non-core businesses (synthetics, steel and cement). Under him, the group moved its focus to fabrics, apparel brands, prophylactics ( KamaSutra condoms), and men's toiletries. Padampat Singhania
Sir Lala Padampat Singhania (3 February 1905 – 18 December 1979) was an Indian industrialist and member of the Indian Constituent Assembly. He had been one time, youngest FICCI president during 1935-36. Biography He was born in Kanpur into a prominent Marwari family, the oldest grandson of Lala Juggilal and son of Lala Kamlapat Singhania. His brothers were Kailashpat (who owned Raymonds) and Lakshmipat Singhania. He was survived by four sons namely Gopal Krishna, Gaur Hari, Govind Hari and Shyam Hari. He was chairman of the JK Mills, part of the J. K. Organisation. Vijaypat Singhania
Vijaypat Singhania is the former chairman emeritus of the Raymond Group and a former Sheriff of Mumbai, from 19 December 2005 to 18 December 2006. A keen aviator, Singhania holds the world record for highest altitude gained travelling in a hot air balloon, notably carried out at the age of 67. Singhania also holds a world record for his solo microlight flight from UK to India in 1988. Singhania has over 5,000 hours of flight experience. In 1994 he won the gold medal in the Fédération Aéronautique Internationale air race covering a distance of 34,000 km spanning 24 days. To mark this occasion he was conferred the rank of Hon. Sir Padampat Singhania University
Sir Padampat Singhania University (SPSU) is a private, residential university located in Udaipur, India. The university was established by the J K Cement group of companies. The university is named after the founder of the J K Organisation. The University came into existence through an Ordinance passed by the Government of Rajasthan in 2007 and which was subsequently made into the Sir Padampat Singhania University Act 2008. It was conceived as a boutique university that will not have more than a total of 1500 students but currently has around a total of 400 students enrolled.
