Sincik is a neighbourhood in the municipality and district of Polatlı, Ankara Province, Turkey. Its population is 126 (2022). In 2006 it passed from the Haymana District to the Polatlı District. Polatlı (formerly Ancient Greek: Γόρδιον, Górdion and Latin: Gordium) is a city and a district in Ankara Province in the Central Anatolia region of Turkey, 80 km west of the Turkish capital Ankara, on the road to Eskişehir. According to 2019 census, population of the district is 125,075 of which 98,605 live in the city of Polatlı. The district covers an area of 3,789 km2, and the average elevation is 850 m. Geography Polatlı is situated at the heart of the high Anatolian Plateau, a large steppe covered with grass. Far from the coast, it has a typical steppe climate. The winters are generally cold, the summers dry and dusty. The springs are the most humid times of the year. Haymana
Haymana is a town and district of Ankara Province in the Central Anatolia region of Turkey, 72 km south of the capital, Ankara. According to the 2010 census, the population of the district is 33,886, of whom 9,091 live in the town of Haymana. The district covers an area of , and the average elevation is 1259 m. Etymology According to the 1074-dated dictionary Dīwān ul-Lughat al-Turk, haymana means prairie in Turkish. History Archaeological excavations were launched in ''Gavur Kalesi'', a castle situated in the village of Dereköy, in the years 1930 and 1998.
