Simone Facchinetti
Simone Facchinetti (born 1972) is an Italian art historian. Born in Bergamo, he graduated from Milan University in modern art history in 2000. He then studied for a doctorate on Roberto Longhi's Carlo Braccesco, editing the critical edition of Braccesco's work, published in 2008. In 2002 he won the ''Premio Internazionale Sergio Polillo''. He was curator of the Museo Adriano Bernareggi in Bergamo from 2000 to 2018 and from 2019 onwards has taught art history at Salento University. He has also co-curated two exhibitions at London's Royal Academy of Arts (that on Giovan Battista Moroni in 2014, revived at the Frick Collection in 2019 as ''Moroni. Chiara Frugoni (4 February 1940 – 9 April 2022) was an Italian historian and academic, specialising in the Middle Ages and church history. She was awarded the Viareggio Prize in 1994 for her essay, ''Francesco e l'invenzione delle stimmate''. Biography Chiara Frugoni was born in Pisa, 4 February 1940. Her father was the medievalist, Arsenio Frugoni. She spent time during childhood and youth in a sanatorium due to suffering from tuberculosis. Frugoni graduated from Università degli studi di Roma "La Sapienza" in 1964 with a thesis entitled ''Il tema dei tre vivi e dei tre morti nella tradizione medievale italiana'' ('' the Three Living and the Three Dead in Italian medieval tradition''), published two years later in the "Atti della Accademia Nazionale dei Lincei". Giorgione
Giorgione (, , ; born Giorgio Barbarelli da Castelfranco; 1477–78 or 1473–74 – 17 September 1510) was an Italian painter of the Venetian school during the High Renaissance, who died in his thirties. He is known for the elusive poetic quality of his work, though only about six surviving paintings are firmly attributed to him. The uncertainty surrounding the identity and meaning of his work has made Giorgione one of the most mysterious figures in European art. Together with his younger contemporary Titian, he founded the Venetian school of Italian Renaissance painting, characterised by its use of colour and mood. Giovan Battista Moroni
Giovanni Battista Moroni ( – 5 February 1579) was an Italian painter of the Late Renaissance period. He also is called Giambattista Moroni. Best known for his elegantly realistic portraits of the local nobility and clergy, he is considered one of the great portrait painters of sixteenth century Italy. Biography Moroni was the son of architect Andrea Moroni. He trained under Alessandro Bonvicino "Il Moretto" in Brescia, where he was the main studio assistant during the 1540s, and worked in Trento, Bergamo and his home town of Albino, near Bergamo, where he was born and died. His two short periods in Trento coincided with the first two sessions of the Council of Trent, 1546–48 and 1551–53.
