Simon Webb (chess Player)
Simon Webb (10 June 1949 – 14 March 2005) was a British chess player and writer who held the chess titles of International Master and Correspondence Chess Grandmaster. Born in London, he was joint British under-18 champion in 1966, and fourth in the European Junior Championship in 1969. Webb was briefly a professional player in the late 1970s, participated in a number of strong tournaments, and met some strong players, including a 17-year-old Garry Kasparov at the 1980 European Team Championship (Webb lost). At one event, he was assigned a lady translator. Webb married her and took her to England. He was joint second in the 1975 British Championship behind William Hartston. Perhaps his best tournament result was joint first with Liuben Spassov at Hamburg 1977, ahead of István Csom and Milan Matulović. He was famous for his ability to save or even win from hopelessly lost positions, which earned him the nickname "Houdini". He became an International Master in 1977. His ...

Simon Webb (footballer)
Simon Webb (born 19 January 1978 in County Mayo) is an Irish retired footballer. A trainee with Tottenham Hotspur from August 1994, Simon went on loan to Leyton Orient in October 1999. He signed for Bohemians from Purfleet in July 2000 where he won two league winning medals (2000/01 and 2002/03) and a FAI Cup winners medal (2001). He was sent off in the 2002 FAI Cup Final as Bohemians were beaten 2-1 by Dundalkbr> At the end of the 2004 season, Webb moved along with Damian Lynch to Drogheda United. He has become a regular fixture in the side, captaining the side on occasions and has added to his collection of medals by winning the FAI Cup in 2005 and the Setanta Cup in 2006 and 2007. Simon Webb (born 24 September 1981) is a former English cricketer. Webb was a right-handed batsman. He was born in Grimsby, Lincolnshire. Webb made his debut for Lincolnshire in the 2000 MCCA Knockout Trophy against Cheshire. Webb played Minor counties cricket for Lincolnshire from 2001 to 2007, which included 12 Minor Counties Championship matches and 4 MCCA Knockout Trophy matches. He made his List A debut against Glamorgan in the 3rd round of the 2002 Cheltenham & Gloucester Trophy. In this match, Webb scored 55 runs from 104 balls, before being dismissed by Andrew Davies.
