Simon Watts
Simon Glen Watts is a New Zealand politician. he is an elected Member of Parliament in the House of Representatives for the National Party. Early life and career Watts was born in Cambridge, Waikato, where his family were orchardists. He has two younger brothers. Watts has bachelor's degrees in management, accounting and finance, and health science. He has worked in both the private and public sector roles in New Zealand, Asia and the United Kingdom. During the Global Financial Crisis he was working for the Royal Bank of Scotland in London in various management roles. He is a chartered accountant and was later deputy chief financial officer at the Waitematā District Health Board. He also has a Bachelor of Paramedicine from the Auckland University of Technology, and at one point worked as a front-line ambulance officer for St John. Margaret Mary Barry (born 5 October 1959), generally known as Maggie Barry, is a New Zealand politician and former member of the House of Representatives, first elected in the 2011 general election. She is a member of the National Party, and was the Minister for Conservation, Seniors Citizens, and Arts, Culture and Heritage in the Fifth National Government. Barry has had a long career in broadcasting, including gardening shows, and has a rose named after her. Early life Barry's father was an accountant for the railways, and her mother was a florist. Both were strict Catholics. Barry was born in Wellington and went to Erskine College, a Roman Catholic school in Wellington. Broadcasting career Barry was a radio and television presenter for over 30 years.
