Simon Sanches
Simon Everhardus Hendrik Sanches (9 August 1915 – 16 August 2002) was a Dutch navy nurse and laboratory technician who planned to commit a coup d'état in Suriname on the night of 7 to 8 November 1947. The coup was betrayed, and he was sentenced to seven months imprisonment and was later pardoned. Biography Sanches was born on 9 August 1915 in Ambarawa, Java, Dutch East Indies (nowadays Indonesia). He spent his youth in Suriname, and moved to the Netherlands in 1934 to study medicine. He ran into financial difficulties, and joined the Royal Netherlands Navy in 1940 as a nurse. Sanches' navy career was cut short by the German invasion of the Netherlands, and he studied to become a medical laboratory technician in Utrecht. During this period, he became politically active. He met several Surinamese army volunteers who were also stuck in the Netherlands, and often had difficulties making a living. Ambarawa
Ambarawa is a town (and administratively, a district of the Semarang Regency) located between the city of Semarang and Salatiga in Central Java, Indonesia. Frans Killinger
Frans Pavel Vaclav Killinger (14 November 1875 – 1936/1962) was a military officer and police inspector in Suriname who planned to commit the first coup d'état in Suriname on the night of 25 to 26 May 1910. The coup was betrayed, and he was sentenced to death which was later commuted to five years imprisonment. In December 1913, he was released from jail. Later, he enlisted in the cavalry of the Ottoman Army (1861–1922), Ottoman Army as Muhammed Tewfig Killinger. Biography Killinger was born on 14 November 1875, in Hodony, Austria-Hungary. His father wanted him to become a priest, however Killinger volunteered for the Austro-Hungarian Army in 1894. Dishonorable Discharge
A military discharge is given when a member of the armed forces is released from their obligation to serve. Each country's military has different types of discharge. They are generally based on whether the persons completed their training and then fully and satisfactorily completed their term of service. Other types of discharge are based on factors such as the quality of their service, whether their service had to be ended prematurely due to humanitarian or medical reasons, whether they had been found to have drug or alcohol dependency issues and whether they were complying with treatment and counseling, and whether they had demerits or punishments for infractions or were convicted of any crimes. Johannes Brons
Johannes Cornelis Brons (6 August 1884 – 12 May 1964) was a judge, Governor of Suriname from 1944 until 1948, and President of the High Court of Justice of Suriname. Biography Brons was born on 6 August 1884 in The Hague. He studied law at Leiden University, and received his doctorate in 1909. Between 1909 and 1926, he worked as a lawyer and prosecutor in Rotterdam. In 1926, Brons went to Suriname, served on the High Court of Justice of Suriname, and became the president of the court in 1929. He served until 1943. In 1930, he was elected to the Colonial Estates, and subsequently became its President. In 1935, he resigned from the Estates. Brons served as Acting Governor-General of Suriname from 16 August 1935 until 12 April 1936, September 1938 until January 1939, and again on 3 January 1944. A court-martial or court martial (plural ''courts-martial'' or ''courts martial'', as "martial" is a postpositive adjective) is a military court or a trial conducted in such a court. A court-martial is empowered to determine the guilt of members of the armed forces subject to military law, and, if the defendant is found guilty, to decide upon punishment.
