Richard Huber (born 1960) is a playwright, actor and director based in Dunedin, New Zealand. Early life and education Born in 1960, Huber's early theatre work included performances for Splinta and Terra Firma, two stilt theatre companies based in Christchurch. Bruce Mason Playwriting Award
The Bruce Mason Playwriting Award is an annual award that recognises the work of an outstanding emerging New Zealand playwright. The winner is decided by the votes of a panel of leading New Zealand artistic directors and script advisors. The award is named after New Zealand's playwright Bruce Mason CBE (1921–1982). Mason's best known plays are ''The End of the Golden Weather'' and the ''Pohutukawa Tree.'' The award was established by Independent Newspapers in 1983, the year after Mason's death, with assistance from Playmarket, for an amount of $2,000. It is currently a $10,000 award managed by Playmarket and has been funded over the years by the FAME Trust (Fund for Acting and Musical Endeavours), Downstage Theatre Society, Bruce Mason Trust and Rachel and David Underwood. Hilary Halba
Hilary Halba (born ''ca'' 1962) is a New Zealand actor, theatre director and academic. She is the head of the performing arts programme at the University of Otago. Biography Halba was born in Milton and attended Tokomairiro High School before studying at the University of Otago. Halba studied acting and the teaching of acting at the Neighborhood Playhouse School of the Theater in New York City, and is an accredited teacher of the Meisner Technique. She was a founding member of theatre collectives Kilimogo Productions and Wow! Productions Trust. In 2010 she collaborated with Stuart Young to research and create a verbatim theatre production telling stories of domestic violence. David O'Donnell (actor-director)
David John O'Donnell (born in Nelson in 1956) is a theatre director, actor and academic based in Wellington, New Zealand. He has been a full professor at Victoria University of Wellington since 2019. Education O'Donnell has a diploma in Acting from Toi Whakaari/New Zealand Drama School (1979), where his contemporaries included Lani Tupu and Simon Phillips. He is a graduate of both Victoria University of Wellington and the University of Otago, where he was awarded a Postgraduate Diploma in Arts (PGrad Dip) and an MA. His 1999 Master's thesis was titled ''Re-staging history: historiographic drama from New Zealand and Australia''. Lisa Jadwiga Valentina Warrington (born 1952) is a New Zealand theatre studies academic, director, actor and author. She has directed more than 130 productions, and established the Theatre Aotearoa database. In 2014 she was awarded a Lifetime Achievement Award in the Dunedin Theatre Awards, and was three times winner of a ''New Zealand Listener'' Best Director award, including one for Tom Scott's ''The Daylight Atheist''.
