Amersham is part of the London commuter belt. There are two distinct areas: * Old Amersham, set in the valley of the River Misbourne, containing the 13th-century parish church of St. Mary's and several old pubs and coaching inns * Amersham-on-the-Hill, which grew in the early 20th century around , which was served by the Metropolitan Railway, now the Metropolitan line, and the Great Central Railway. What we get now are thrillers set in modern times with lots of blood and violence. There is no blood and no violence in this series. They are tales about ghosts, vampires, werewolves, that sort of thing. Highly romantic and highly charged with fear and menace." Although each episode was a stand-alone story, episodes 2 and 3 ...
