Simon Dodd
Simon Dodd (born 7 June 1959) is an Australian comedy writer, author, playwright and feature writer. He is the recipient of ten Australian Writers' Guild AWGIE Awards as part of the writing team behind such successful TV series as '' Good News Week'' and ''The Glass House''. His list of credits includes popular Australian comedy TV shows from the late 1980s until today. He also wrote for Logies host Andrew Denton in 1999 and 2000. In 2014, he produced and directed his Absurdist comedy stage-play ''Plaything'' at the Factory Theatre for the Sydney Comedy Festival, garnering a number of positive reviews. Simon has worked with Andrew Denton, Doug Mulray, Paul McDermott, Wil Anderson and Amanda Keller. He is co-writer with Bruce Griffiths of 26 episodes of the animated TV series '' The Flamin’ Thongs''. Simon is also the author of the novel ''Death By Muttonbird'' and the stage play ''Plaything''. Comedy is a genre of fiction that consists of discourses or works intended to be humorous or amusing by inducing laughter, especially in theatre, film, stand-up comedy, television, radio, books, or any other entertainment medium. Paul McDermott
Paul Anthony Michael McDermott (born 13 May 1962) is an Australian entertainer, best known both for ''Good News Week'' and for his role as a member of the musical comedy group the Doug Anthony All Stars. He has frequently appeared at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival and taken part in its two major televised productions, the Comedy Festival Gala and the Great Debate. McDermott has also performed and written numerous shows as a solo performer and authored children’s books and newspaper articles and directed short animated films. Waverton, New South Wales
Waverton is a suburb on the lower North Shore of Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. Waverton is 4 kilometres north of the Sydney central business district, in the local government area of North Sydney Council. History Waverton was named in 1929 after the Waverton Estate of an early resident, Robert Old. The land once belonged to William Carr, who named it after an English village connected to his family. The North Shore railway line was extended south from St Leonards to Milsons Point in 1893. The station in this area for nearly forty years was known as Bay Road, after the thoroughfare that crosses the railway line. ''The Flamin' Thongs'' is an Australian children's animated television series screening on ABC3 from 9 May 2014. The 26 12-minute episodes (written by Simon Dodd and Bruce Griffiths) follow the plans of the dysfunctional Thong Family, as they try to put their small hometown of Whale Bay on the map. The family consists of parents Trevor and Brenda, their 12-year-old son Holden and 14-year-old daughter Narelle. Holden's best friend, Rerp, is a cane toad in a school uniform. Douglas John Mulray (born 1 December 1951) is an Australian comedian, radio and television presenter. He grew up in the Sydney Northern Beaches suburb of Dee Why. Radio career Mulray began his career at 2AD in Armidale, after doing a broadcasting course at the Digamae (Rod Muir's) Radio School. From there he grafted his way south, securing a spot with Central Coast station 2GO Gosford. During the mid 1970s he worked on 3AW Melbourne with a program called "Mulray & The Man". In the late 1970s, he started a permanent job in Sydney with Australian Broadcasting Corporation's alternative rock station 2JJ (later Triple J), where he built up a sizeable following.
