Simon Chu
Simon Fook Keung Chu ( zh, 朱福強, born 25 December 1947) is a former Hong Kong government official who served as acting director of the Hong Kong government archives from 1999 to 2003. After his retirement, he called on Hong Kong to enact an "Archives Law" to regulate the handling of government records. Early years Chu was born in a well-off home in Hong Kong in 1947. He father had a clerical job. He lived in Stanley, Hong Kong, in a small housing estate, and moved out of the city when he was in middle school. He lived in Canada as a teenager. In 1968 he went to the University of Western Ontario in Canada and majored in history. Later he received a master's degree in history from the University of Calgary and a master's degree in archives from the University of Western Ontario. Stanley, Hong Kong
Stanley, or Chek Chue, is a coastal town and a popular tourist attraction in Hong Kong. It is located on a peninsula on Hong Kong Island. It is east of Repulse Bay and west of Shek O, adjacent to Chung Hom Kok and Tai Tam. Administratively, it is part of the Southern District. The Chinese name "Chek Chue" refers to the original village-town but "Stanley" generally refers to all the surrounding areas of the peninsula on Hong Kong Island. Name There are two possible origins of the name "Chek Chue". Legend has it that the notorious pirate Cheung Po Tsai was active in Stanley. That is why the district became known in Cantonese as Chak Chue (). There was once a Cheung Po Tsai Cave near the Tin Hau Temple west of Stanley, but the cave was filled in the early 1950s. Radio Television Hong Kong (RTHK) is the public broadcasting service in Hong Kong. GOW, the predecessor to RTHK, was established in 1928 as the first broadcasting service in Hong Kong. Hong Kong Free Press (HKFP) is a free, non-profit news website based in Hong Kong. Trudy Huskamp Peterson (born January 25, 1945) is first woman to hold the position of Archivist of the United States. She was the Acting Archivist of the United States from March 25, 1993 to May 29, 1995. Education Peterson earned her B.S. in English and History from Iowa State University in 1967, an M.A. in U.S. History from the University of Iowa in 1972 and a Ph.D. in U.S. History from the University of Iowa in 1975. Nolda Römer-Kenepa
Nolda Cira Römer-Kenepa (born 3 January 1953) is a Dutch historian and archivist. She served as acting governor of Curaçao from 2013 to 2019. Early years Nolda Cira Kenepa was born in Willemstad, Curaçao, Netherlands, on 3 January 1953. Her parents were Bicente Paulo Kenepa and Wilhelmina Ramona (Nucatia) Kenepa. She studied modern history at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. Her 1980 doctoral study was on ''Vrouwenleven op Curaçao: Laat achttiende eeuw en vroeg negentiende eeuw'' (Women's Lives in Curaçao: Late Eighteenth and Early Nineteenth Century). Adrian Cunnningham (born 1960) is an Australian archivist who worked for many years at the National Archives of Australia. He is known for his contributions to the practice of digital records management, including development of international standards in this field. Career Adrian Cunnningham was born in Brisbane, Australia, in 1960. In 1981 he became a qualified librarian in Sydney, Australia.
