Simon Atkins (basketball)
Simon David L. Atkins (born July 19, 1988) is a Filipino professional basketball player who last played for the Makati Super Crunch of the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL). He was drafted first in the 23rd overall by the Air21 Express in the 2012 PBA draft. He played college ball for De La Salle University where he won a championship in 2007 with the Green Archers. Point Guard
The point guard (PG), also called the one or the point, is one of the five Basketball positions, positions in a regulation basketball game. A point guard has perhaps the most specialized role of any position. Point guards are expected to run the team's offense by controlling the ball and making sure that it gets to the right player at the right time. Above all, the point guard must understand and accept their coach's game plan; in this way, the position can be compared to a quarterback in American football. The De La Salle Green Archers (also known simply as the Green Archers) are the men's varsity teams representing De La Salle University in the Philippines. The women's varsity teams are generally referred to as the De La Salle Lady Archers. The school's varsity teams participate in the University Athletic Association of the Philippines, among others.
