Sima Igumanov
Sima Andrejević ( sr-cyr, Сима Андрејевић; Prizren, January 30, 1804 — Prizren, February 24, 1882), known as Sima Igumanov, was a Serbian merchant who made a fortune through tobacco trade, and invested his fortune in building educational facilities for the common good. Biography Andrejević was born in Prizren, Ottoman Empire into an ethnic Serb family. He had two older brothers, Kraguj and Petar. Their father bought ammunition to the Serbian revolutionaries for all of his wealth, and the older brothers joined the fight. He was orphaned at an early age, and was taken in by the Monastery of St. Mark of Koriša, where he learnt to read and write and was further educated. When he came of age, he took up working in a snuff factory, which was located along the Bistrica river in Prizren. Sima got a partner and started making capital doing this. Serbian Orthodox Seminary (Prizren)
The Serbian Orthodox Seminary of Saints Cyril and Methodius ( sr, Српска Православна Богословија Св. Кирила и Методија), known as the Prizren Seminary (Призренска Богословија), is a Serbian Orthodox theological school. The school has produced scholars and educators, though its main mission is to create clergymen. The seminary was the first cultural-educational and political center of the Serbs in Kosovo. History 19th century Serbian merchant Sima Andrejević founded the seminary in order to train men to serve as Orthodox clergymen and teachers. The teaching process in this school started in May 1871. Kosovo Serbs
Kosovo Serbs are one of the ethnic groups of Kosovo. There are around 100,000 Kosovo Serbs as of 2014 and about half of them live in North Kosovo. Other Serb communities live in southern Kosovo. After Albanians, they form the largest ethnic community in Kosovo (4-7%). The medieval Kingdom of Serbia (1217–1346) and the Serbian Empire (1346–1371) included parts of the territory of Kosovo until its annexation by the Ottomans following the Battle of Kosovo (1389), considered one of the most notable events of Serbian history. The Order of Prince Danilo I ( cnr, Орден Књаза Данила I, translit=Orden Knjaza Danila I) was an order of the Principality and later Kingdom, of Montenegro. It is currently a dynastic order granted by the head of the House of Petrović-Njegoš, Crown Prince Nicholas. It is awarded to prominent champions of the preservation of Montenegrin independence and for other humanitarian, scientific, artistic and pro-social achievements as defined by statute. Alterations were made to the appearance of the original decoration created by Prince Danilo, and during the rule of King Nikola I Petrović Njegoš the Order underwent two restructurings.
