Silvia Ambrosio
Silvia Ambrosio (born 24 January 1997) is a German born Italian tennis player. Ambrosio has a career-high singles ranking by the WTA of 242, achieved on 11 December 2023. She also has a career-high WTA doubles ranking of 448, reached on 18 March 2024. She was born in Giessen and played for Germany since 2019. In June 2023, she became an Italian citizen. From 2015 to 2019, Ambrosio played college tennis in the United States. From 2015 to 2017, she played for the Golden Eagles of Marquette University, and from 2017 to 2019 for the Boilermakers of Purdue University. Giessen
Giessen, spelled Gießen in German (), is a town in the German state (''Bundesland'') of Hesse, capital of both the district of Giessen and the administrative region of Giessen. The population is approximately 90,000, with roughly 37,000 university students. The name comes from ''Giezzen'', as it was first referred to in 1197, which refers to the position of the town between several rivers, lakes and streams.
