__NOTOC__ Silverton is a locality in the Australian state of South Australia located about south of the state capital of Adelaide and about south-west of the municipal seat in Yankalilla. Silverton began in 1864 as a sub-division of part of section 116 in the cadastral unit of the Hundred of Waitpinga developed by John Wrathall Bull in response to mining activity at the nearby Talisker silver mine which started in the 1860s and which had ceased by the 1920s. Boundaries for the locality were created on 5 August 1999 for the "local established name" which is derived from the name adopted for the sub-division. Silverton consists of land on the eastern side of the Mount Lofty Ranges which is bounded in part to the north by the portion of Main South Road passing from Delamere in the north to Cape Jervis in the southwest. 2016 Australian Census
The 2016 Australian census was the 17th national population census held in Australia. The census was officially conducted with effect on Tuesday, 9 August 2016. The total population of the Commonwealth of Australia was counted as – an increase of 8.8 per cent or people over the . Talisker Silver Lead Mine
Talisker ( gd, Talasgair) is a settlement on the Minginish peninsula in the Isle of Skye, Scotland. History Talisker was for centuries a possession of the Clan Macleod. For nearly two hundred years it was associated with a cadet branch of the chiefly line, founded by Sir Roderick Macleod, 1st of Talisker (1606-1675). Sir Roderick was the second son of Rory Mor Macleod (d.1626) and Isabel, daughter of Donald Macdonell, 8th of Glengarry. Along with his brother, Sir Norman Macleod of Bernera, he was knighted in 1661 for his services to the royalist cause. He married first a daughter of Lord Reay and secondly Mary, daughter of Lachlan Og Mackinnon of Mackinnon. Talisker Conservation Park
__NOTOC__ Talisker Conservation Park is a protected area in the Australian state of South Australia located on the south-western area of the Fleurieu Peninsula near the town of Cape Jervis and adjacent to Deep Creek Conservation Park. The conservation park covers including areas of thick scrub, some steep walking tracks and the heritage-listed remains of a nineteenth century silver and lead mine. Talisker became a conservation park in 1976 after a period of 104 years of intermittent mining activity in the area. The conservation park owes its name to the two McLeod brothers who discovered an outcrop of silver-lead ore while searching for gold in 1862.
