Silverado High School is a high school in Victorville, California, United States. It is part of the Victor Valley Union High School District. Construction began on Silverado High School in 1996, its first class graduated in 1999. Silverado's primary rival is the cross-town Victor Valley High School Jackrabbits. History Silverado High was to be relieved of students upon the opening of Adelanto High School in Adelanto in 2014. Campus The original campus consists of three separate lunch areas, commonly known as the Freshman area, Sophomore area, and Junior and Senior area. It all consists of 1000-9000 building arrangements. All three lunch areas have a lunch distribution building for receiving breakfast and lunch. The gym, or 7000 building, also contains the weight room and the Multi-Purpose Room (MPR). Victorville, California
Victorville is a city in Victor Valley in San Bernardino County, California. Its population as of the 2020 census was 134,810. History In 1858, Aaron G. Lane came to what is now known as Victorville and founded a waystation called "Lane's Crossing." For many years it provided shelter and supplies for people journeying across the desert from the east to San Bernardino. Lane's Crossing was on the Mojave River on today's Turner Road, two miles north of where Interstate 15 crosses the river. Lane was a veteran of the Mexican–American War who had had malaria during that war. Originally he migrated west to join the California gold rush, but he learned that he could make a better living selling supplies to the miners. Lane settled in Ione, near Sutter's Mill in northern California, during those years, but migrated to San Bernardino in 1857. The California Interscholastic Federation-Southern Section (CIF-SS) is the governing body for high school athletics in most of Southern California and is the largest of the ten sections that comprise the California Interscholastic Federation (CIF). Adelanto High School is a comprehensive high school of the Victor Valley Union High School District, in Adelanto, California, in the Inland Empire region. The mascot of the athletic teams is the Saints. History It was the first high school to be built in Adelanto; previously students attended Silverado High School and Victor Valley High School in Victorville. By 2008 area residents wanted a local high school, and the Victorville high schools were above capacity. In November of that year, the majority of the citizens in Adelanto voted in favor of building the school, by approving a $500 million bond.
