Ray Taylor (director)
Raymond Edgar Taylor (1 December 1888 – 15 February 1952) was an American film director. He directed 159 films between 1926 in film, 1926 and 1949 in film, 1949. His List of directorial debuts, debut was the 1926 film serial ''Fighting with Buffalo Bill''. Ray Taylor was one of the few Hollywood directors who specialized in a single type of film: he was an action specialist. Many action directors would be called upon at one time or another to helm a mainstream drama, romance, or mystery, but Ray Taylor established himself early in westerns and action fare, and he worked in this capacity throughout his career. Even a brief tenure directing the campus-capers "Collegians" shorts for Universal Pictures, Universal was appropriate for Taylor, as these two-reel subjects often emphasized visual action. Beth Marion (born Betty Goettsche; July 11, 1912 – February 18, 2003) was an American B-movie actress of the 1930s, starring in westerns, her career spanning only about five years, mostly in 1936. Early years Born in Clinton, Iowa, Marion was the daughter of actor George Paul Goettsche (who went by the name George Paul) and Marion Stuart Paul. Her parents had their own stock theater troupe, the George Paul Company, and Marion traveled with them until she was three years old. When her parents divorced, she was raised by her grandparents in Clinton while her mother worked in Chicago and eventually remarried. Marion's elementary and secondary schooling occurred in Clinton. She attended Northwestern University, where she sang in a trio with two other young women. Career Marion acted in stock theater before entering films. Robert McKenzie (September 22, 1880 – July 8, 1949) was an Irish-born American film actor. He appeared in more than 310 films between 1915 and 1946. Dennis Moore (born Dennis Meadows; January 26, 1908 – March 1, 1964) was an actor who specialized in Western films and film serials. Early years Moore was born Dennis Meadows in Fort Worth, Texas, and attended schools in El Paso. He was active in aviation and had a pilot's license. Before going into films, he worked in stock theater. A plane crash nearly ended his life. After more than a year spent in a hospital and two additional years of recovery, he could not pass the physical examination for a pilot's license, so he chose to change from aviation to acting. Career Moore began appearing in short subjects and low-budget feature films in the 1930s under the name Denny Meadows and enjoyed greater recognition and employment after he changed his professional name to Dennis Moore.
