Silent Sanderson
''Silent Sanderson'' is a 1925 American silent Western film featuring Harry Carey. Plot As described in a film magazine review, Joel had loved Judith but had given her up to his brother, who asked her to marry him. The brother is found dead, slumped over a letter addressed to Judith, two days prior to their wedding day. Jim Downing, who had displayed his wealth to Judith and persuades her to marry him, had killed the brother. Joel, downhearted, goes to the Klondike to forget his trouble where he becomes known as Silent Sanderson. One year there makes him wealthy. Judith, disillusioned by her marriage to Jim, goes to the Klondike to become a dancer. Sanderson (Joel) hosts the crowd one night at the cafe because of his new claim, when Judith is attacked by a stranger. John Miljan
John Miljan (November 9, 1892 – January 24, 1960) was an American actor. He appeared in more than 200 films between 1924 and 1958. Biography Born in 1892, Miljan was the tall, smooth-talking villain in Hollywood films for almost four decades, beginning in 1923. Miljan made his first sound film in 1927 in the promotional trailer for ''The Jazz Singer'', inviting audiences to see the upcoming landmark film. In later years he played imposing, authoritative parts such as high-ranking executives and military officers. He is best remembered as General Custer in Cecil B. DeMille's film ''The Plainsman''. DeMille also cast him in two notable supporting roles in two of his biblical epics: the Tribe of Dan, Danite elder Lesh Lakish in ''Samson and Delilah (1949 film), Samson and Delilah'' (1949), and the blind Israelite grandfather in The Exodus in ''The Ten Commandments (1956 film), The Ten Commandments'' (1956). Sheldon Lewis
Sheldon Lewis (April 20, 1868 – May 7, 1958) was an American actor of the silent era best known for his antagonistic roles. He appeared in more than 90 films between 1914 and 1936. Lewis was married to actress Virginia Pearson, and they were divorced in 1928. An Associated Press news brief about the divorce said that Pearson accused Lewis of "jealousy, ill temper and abuse." However, Pearson's obituary in ''The New York Times'' said, "throughout the remaining years of their lives, they remained constant companions." The obituary indicated that the divorce was obtained because in that era marriage diminished a female film star's box-office appeal. Lewis was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and died in San Gabriel, California. His interment was located at Pierce Brothers Valhalla Memorial Park. Edith Yorke
Edith Yorke (born Edith Murgatroyd; 23 December 1867 – 28 July 1934) was an English actress. She appeared in more than 60 films between 1919 and 1933. Biography Yorke was born in Derby; her family later moved to Croydon, Surrey. Edith returned to Derby, where she taught destitute children in a local workhouse. She married Robert Byard and emigrated with him and their children to the United States in 1902, becoming a film actress in her 50s, mainly in supporting roles. Her daughter was a film actress also, and her son became a violinist with a symphony orchestra. Yorke died in Southgate, California, aged 66.
