Silent Border
Silent Border is a Swedish rock band formed in 2005. Its members are Jonas Nilsson (guitar and lead vocals), Anders Nordström (bass guitar and vocals), Peter Sjöberg (guitar) and Sebastian Hidén (percussion). The band's first public performance was at a UKM talent show in Åmål in 2005, describing themselves, in jest, as "like gladporr but rock" (''gladporr'' is a form of lighthearted/comedic pornographic movies). The music has been described as rock with influences from 1960s rock music, 1970s progressive rock and modern alternative rock. In July 2007, the band released its first album, ''Hope'', on their own in a limited pressing. It received mostly favourable reviews in the Swedish media. Säffle
Säffle () is a locality and the seat of Säffle Municipality, Värmland County, Sweden with 9,150 inhabitants in 2016. In 1951 the town of Säffle was officially awarded City status, the last place for this to occur in Sweden. This was abolished in 1971 and Säffle is now the seat of the much larger Säffle Municipality. History Säffle's main growth as a town took place after the building of a canal in 1837 which allowed boats to safely bypass a section of turbulent water and rapids in the Byälven river. In 1879 the railway came, linking Säffle with both the west and east coasts, the capital Stockholm and the busy port of Gothenburg. Hard rock or heavy rock is a loosely defined subgenre of rock music typified by aggressive vocals and distorted electric guitars. Hard rock began in the mid-1960s with the garage, psychedelic and blues rock movements. Experimental Rock
Experimental rock, also called avant-rock, is a subgenre of rock music that pushes the boundaries of common composition and performance technique or which experiments with the basic elements of the genre. Åmål
Åmål () is a locality and the seat of Åmål Municipality in Västra Götaland County, Sweden with 9,065 inhabitants in 2010. It is situated on the western shore of Vänern. In 2005 Åmål received second prize in the international competition The International Awards for Liveable Communities (also known as the LivCom Awards). A blues festival has been held annually in Åmål since 1992.
