Silas is a town in Choctaw County, Alabama, United States. At the 2020 census, the population was 377. The town was struck by a tornado on March 17, 2021. The tornado downed trees and inflicted minor damage to outbuildings and homes at EF1 strength. It reached EF2 strength well northeast of town and injured two people. Geography Silas is located in southern Choctaw County at 31°46'17.850" North, 88°19'51.568" West (31.771625, -88.330991). According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the town has a total area of , all land. A defensive tackle (DT) is a position in American football that will typically line up on the line of scrimmage, opposite one of the offensive guards, however he may also line up opposite one of the tackles. Defensive tackles are typically the largest and strongest of the defensive players.
