SAS Nagar
Mohali, officially known as Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, is a planned city in the Mohali district in Punjab, India, which is an administrative and a commercial hub lying south-west of Chandigarh. It is the headquarters of the Mohali district. It is also one of the six Municipal Corporations of the State. It was officially named after Sahibzada Ajit Singh, the eldest son of Guru Gobind Singh. Mohali has developed rapidly as an IT hub of the state of Punjab, and has thus grown in importance. Bhai Bachittar Singh
Bhai Bachittar Singh (6 May 1664 – 22 December 1705), often known with the honorific "Shaheed" (martyr), was a Sikh hero and a general of Guru Gobind Singh. His father was Bhai Mani Singh and he came from Alipur Riyasat Multan. Family background Bhai Bachittar Singh was the son of Bhai Mani Singh. He made a name for himself when he single-handedly defeated a drunken elephant let loose by the Army of the Mughal Empire during the siege of Lohgarh. Death An account cited that after Singh fought on the bank of a stream called Sarsa, where all of his companions perished, he was wounded during an encounter with the Mughal army on his way to Ropar. Bachittar Singh's wounds proved to be fatal. He succumbed to his injuries and died on 8 December 1705. Nihang Khan had the cremation performed secretly the following night. Bhai Taru Singh
Bhai Taru Singh ( – 1 July 1745) was a prominent Sikh martyr known for sacrificing his life, for protecting his Sikh values, by having had his head scalped rather than cutting his hair and converting to Islam. A 3D-animated film about Bhai Taru Singh was released globally on 27 April 2018. Biography Bhai Taru Singh was born around 1720 in Amritsar during the reign of the Mughal Empire. He was raised as a ravidassia Sikh by his widowed mother and had one sister, Tar Kaur. Singh was engaged in agriculture at Poolha, Kasur, Lahore District, where he had a small farm and grew maize. Upon witnessing Sikh fighters save a poor girl from the clutches of the Mughal oppressors, Bhai Taru Singh decided to become initiated into the Khalsa. Bhai Mati Das
Bhai Mati Das ( Punjabi: ਭਾਈ ਮਤੀ ਦਾਸ; died 1675) along with his younger brother Bhai Sati Das were martyrs of early Sikh history. Bhai Mati Das, Bhai Dayala, and Bhai Sati Das were executed at a ''kotwali'' (police-station) in the Chandni Chowk area of Delhi, under the express orders of Emperor Aurangzeb just before the martyrdom of Guru Tegh Bahadur.
