Sign (band)
Sign is an Icelandic rock band that was formed in 2000, as Halim, to compete in the Icelandic version of the Battle of the bands called Musiktilraunir. The band 's frontman and founding member Ragnar Zolberg is also a solo artist and was a guitar player in the Swedish band Pain of Salvation. Sign has toured with bands such as Wednesday 13, The Wildhearts, Aiden, The Answer, Skid Row and played a show with Alice Cooper in Iceland. In August 2007 Sign played their first headline tour of the UK. On 10 June 2008, Sign opened for Whitesnake in Reykjavik, Iceland. On 14 June 2008, Sign were the first band to play on the mainstage at Download Festival, Donington Park. Sign recorded a cover of Iron Maiden's "Run to the Hills" on the tribute album '' Maiden Heaven: A Tribute to Iron Maiden'' released by ''Kerrang!'' magazine. Hafnarfjörður
Hafnarfjörður (), officially Hafnarfjarðarkaupstaður (), is a port town and municipality in Iceland, located about south of Reykjavík. The municipality consists of two non-contiguous areas in the Capital Region, on the southwest coast of the country. At about 30,000 inhabitants, Hafnarfjörður is the third-most populous city in Iceland after Reykjavík and Kópavogur. It has established local industry and a variety of urban activities, with annual festival events. Activities The town is the site of an annual Viking festival, where Viking culture enthusiasts from around the world display reconstructions of Viking garb, handicraft, sword-fighting and longbow shooting. "Run to the Hills" is a song by the English heavy metal band Iron Maiden. It was released as their sixth single and the first from the band's third studio album, '' The Number of the Beast'' (1982). It is their first single with Bruce Dickinson as vocalist. Credited solely to the band's bassist, Steve Harris, Dickinson contributed to the song but could not be credited due to a contractual agreement with his former band Samson. Run to the Hills remains one of the band's most popular songs, with VH1 ranking it No. 27 on their list of the 40 Greatest Metal Songs and No. 14 on their list of the Greatest Hard Rock Songs. Benny Crespo's Gang is an Icelandic alternative rock band. They released their eponymous debut album in 2007. The group formed in 2003. Biography The members of the group are from a village in southern Iceland, Selfoss. The band performed for four years before releasing their first album. Their first album was released in 2007 and was well received by the Icelandic music scene. The album was nominated for the Icelandic Music Awards in 2008. Along with good reviews in Iceland, they have been getting recognition in the foreign media, such as ''NME'' and '' Clash''.
