Murder Of Jessica Ridgeway
Jessica Ridgeway (January 23, 2002 – October 5, 2012) was an American girl who, at the age of 10, was kidnapped in Westminster, Colorado, and murdered by Austin Sigg (born January 17, 1995) on October 5, 2012. Her dismembered body was found five days later. Sigg was sentenced to life imprisonment for the murder in November 2013. Disappearance Ridgeway was reported missing on the evening of October 5, 2012 after she failed to return home from school, and an AMBER Alert was issued. Two days later, her school backpack, containing her glasses, was found on a sidewalk. On October 10, her dismembered remains were found in a park in Arvada. Confession to crime Later in October 2012, a 17-year-old youth named Austin Sigg confessed to killing Ridgeway. He told police that he kidnapped her as she walked towards where he had parked his Jeep, and then he bound her wrists and ankles with zip ties and took her to his house. Eugen Sigg-Bächthold (16 January 1898–29 December 1994), better known as Eugen Sigg, was a Swiss rower who competed in the 1924 Summer Olympics. In 1924, he won the gold medal with the Swiss boat in the coxed four event. Ferdinand Sigg (22 March 1902 in Thalwil (Switzerland) – 27 October 1965 in Zürich (Switzerland)) was the first European bishop of the Central Conference of Middle and Southern Europe of the Methodist Episcopal Church He grew up in a Methodist workman family. From 1923 to 1927 he studied at the Methodist seminary in Frankfurt, Germany. In 1929 he married Alice Mumenthaler. After completing his studies, he worked in the Methodist congregation of Basel and then became secretary of bishop John Louis Nuelsen. 1936 in an economical crises he became director of the Swiss Methodist publishing house in Zurich. In this position he contributed a lot after World War II to rebuild the completely destroyed German publishing house in Frankfurt. Fredy Sigg
Fredy Sigg (1923–1998) was a Swiss designer and cartoonist. He was known nationwide for his caricatures during the 1960s to 1980s. He was active as a free-lance graphicist and illustrator from 1947. From 1958 he worked as a caricaturist for the ''Nebelspalter'', ''Weltwoche'' and ''Der Schweizerische Beobachter, Beobachter'' newspapers, later also for ''Züri-Woche'', ''Schweizerische Handelszeitung'' and ''Annabelle''. Oswald Sigg
Oswald Sigg (born 1944 in Zürich) is a Swiss journalist. In August 2005, he was elected Vice-Chancellor of Switzerland and Spokesman of the government of Switzerland, the Swiss Federal Council. He served as Spokesman until his retirement on 31 March 2009. Sigg studied sociology and economics in St. Gallen, Paris and Berne. After graduating, he served as deputy spokesperson for the Federal Chancellery between 1975 and 1980, then as a spokesperson for the Federal Department of Finance (1975-1980), the Federal Department of Defence, Civil Protection and Sport (1998-2004) and the Federal Department of Environment, Transport, Energy and Communications (2004-2005), under five different Federal Councillors. Uli Sigg (born 1946) is a Swiss businessman, diplomat and art collector. He served as the Swiss Ambassador to China, North Korea and Mongolia from 1995 to 1998. He serves as the vice chairman of Ringier, the largest media company in Switzerland. He made a large donation of contemporary Chinese art to the Hong Kong-based M+ museum in 2012.
