Siene Allwell-Brown
Siene Allwell-Brown is a veteran Nigerian broadcaster and lawyer who was prominent in the 1970s and 1980s for her work on the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA). Early life and education Allwell-Brown hails from Rivers State but was raised in Aba, Abia State, attended Aba township school Aba, Abia State and A.C.M Girls' school Elelenwa, Rivers State for her primary and secondary education respectively. She attained a degree in Law from Middlesex University, London in 1984. She then proceeded to the Nigerian Law School in 1985. Career Allwell-Brown started out as a radio presenter at the Nigerian Broadcasting Corporation (NBC) on May 1, 1973 before moving on to present for the Nigerian Television Authority. She has also served as a general manager of external communications for the Nigeria Liquefied Natural Gas Limited and also a general manager of Rivers State Television. The Nigerian Television Authority or NTA is a Nigerian government-owned and partly commercial broadcast station. Originally known as Nigerian Television (NTV), it was inaugurated in 1977 with a monopoly on national television broadcasting, after a takeover of regional television stations by military governmental authorities in 1976. After declining interest from the public in government-influenced programming, it lost its monopoly over television broadcasting in Nigeria in the 1990s. Nigeria LNG Limited (NLNG) is a liquefied natural gas (LNG)-producing company and a liquefied natural gas plant on Bonny Island, Nigeria. History Nigeria LNG Limited was incorporated as a limited liability company on 17 May 1989, to produce LNG and natural gas liquids (NGL) for export. The plant was built by TSKJ consortium, which was led by former Halliburton's subsidiary KBR. Other participants of the consortium were Snamprogetti, Technip and JGC Corporation. The first train came into operation in 1999. In September 1999, the Bonny plant started production and was expected to send its first shipment in October. Nnamdi Azikiwe
Nnamdi Benjamin Azikiwe, (16 November 1904 – 11 May 1996), usually referred to as "Zik", was a Nigerian statesman and political leader who served as the first President of Nigeria from 1963 to 1966. Considered a driving force behind the nation's independence, he came to be known as the "father of Nigerian Nationalism". Born to Igbo parents from Anambra State, Eastern Nigeria in Zungeru in present-day Niger State, as a young boy he learned to speak Hausa (the main indigenous language of the Northern Region). Azikiwe was later sent to live with his aunt and grandmother in Onitsha (his parental homeland), where he learned the Igbo language. Obafemi Awolowo
Chief Obafemi Jeremiah Oyeniyi Awolowo (; 6 March 1909 – 9 May 1987) was a Yoruba nationalist and Nigerian statesman who played a key role in Nigeria's independence movement (1957-1960). Awolowo founded the Yoruba nationalist group Egbe Omo Oduduwa, and was the first Leader of Government Business and Minister of Local Government and Finance, and first Premier of the Western Region under Nigeria's parliamentary system, from 1952 to 1959. He was the official Leader of the Opposition in the federal parliament to the Balewa government from 1959 to 1963.
