Sien Of Diauehi
Sien is one of the first historically-confirmed rulers of the Diauehi, Kingdom of Diaokhi, a confederation of proto-Georgian tribes. Ruling toward the end of the 12th century BC, 12th century BCE, he is known from Assyrian sources describing the invasion of his kingdom by Tiglath-Pileser I in 1110s BC, 1112 BCE. Biography Sien is the first historically-confirmed ruler of the tribal confederation known as the Diauehi, Kingdom of Diaokhi. He reigned toward the end of the 12th century BC, 12th century BCE, most likely shortly after the creation of the kingdom. He joined his domains to Nairi, a political-military alliance between South Caucasus states. Sien is an '' Ortsgemeinde'' – a municipality belonging to a ''Verbandsgemeinde'', a kind of collective municipality – in the Birkenfeld district in Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. Sien (Van Gogh Series)
Vincent van Gogh drew and painted a series of works of his mistress Sien during their time together in the Netherlands. In particular, his drawing '' Sorrow'' is widely acknowledged as a masterwork of draftsmanship, the culmination of a long and sometimes uncertain apprenticeship in learning his craft. Commonly called Sien Hoornik, Clasina Maria Hoornik (1850–1904) lived with van Gogh during much of his time in The Hague from 1881 to 1883. Van Gogh used Sien, a pregnant prostitute, as a model for his work and later took Sien and her daughter into his home. Van Gogh made drawings and paintings of Sien and her daughter, baby and mother over that period, which reflected the domestic life and hardships of the working poor. Their relationship was not accepted by his family or supporters, although his brother Theo did not withdraw his support over it. Wong Foon Sien
Wong Foon Sien (; 7 July 1899 – 31 July 1971), also simply known as Foon Sien, was a Canadian journalist and labour activist. He devoted time to a number of civil and human rights organizations, was one of the early leaders of the Chinese Benevolent Association in Vancouver, and was "perhaps the most influential person" in the city's Chinatown. He was sometimes referred to as the "spokesman for Chinatown", or as "mayor of Chinatown" by Vancouverites, to the resentment of some Chinese Canadians in the community. Foon Sien sought to end discrimination against Chinese Canadians and other minority groups, and was an ardent activist to grant or recognize their rights, particularly regarding immigration and family reunification. Osowa Sień (German: Röhrsdorf) is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Wschowa, within Wschowa County, Lubusz Voivodeship, in western Poland. It lies approximately north-east of Wschowa and east of Zielona Góra. Etymology The current name of the village is literally ''a house in the aspen'' and appears in Polish historical sources also as Ossowa Sień or Ossowasień. ''Red Sien'' ( nl, Rooie Sien) is a 1975 Dutch drama film directed by Frans Weisz, produced by Rob du Mée. The story is based on the play with the same name, created by Marius Spree at the start of the 20th century. Beppie Nooij jr. played the role of Rooie Sien ("Red Sien") almost 1500 times on the stage.
