Andrew Patrick Vincent Siemion is an astrophysicist and director]of the Berkeley SETI Research Center. His research interests include high energy time-variable celestial phenomena, astronomical instrumentation and the search for extraterrestrial intelligence (SETI). Andrew Siemion is the Principal Investigator for the Breakthrough Listen program. Siemion received a B.A. degree in 2008, an M.A. degree in 2010, and a Ph.D. degree in 2012, all in astrophysics from the University of California, Berkeley. In 2018, Siemion was named the Bernard M. Oliver Chair for SETI at the SETI Institute. Siemion is jointly affiliated with Radboud University Nijmegen and the University of Malta. Also in 2018, he was elected to the International Academy of Astronautics as a Corresponding Member for Basic Sciences. Wojciech Siemion
Wojciech Juliusz Siemion (30 July 1928 – 24 April 2010) was a Polish stage and film actor. He studied law at the Catholic University in Lublin from 1947 to 1950. At the same time, he attended acting classes at a local theatre. He enrolled at the State Theatre Academy in Warsaw and after just one month, was able to skip two years of studies. Upon graduation in 1951 he began acting in several theatres and cabarets including Pod Egidą. In 1983, he became a member of the council of the Patriotic Movement for National Rebirth, and in 1985–1989 served as a member of the Sejm from the Polish United Workers' Party. After the fall of the communist regime in Poland, Siemion became a member of the Polish People's Party and served in the regional legislature of the Masovian Voivodeship. Siemion was awarded many cultural and state awards, including the Order of Polonia Restituta. On 21 April 2010, Siemion was seriously injured in a car accident in Ruszki near Sochaczew. He died ... Semyon Mikhailovich Budyonnyy ( rus, Семён Миха́йлович Будённый, Semyon Mikháylovich Budyonnyy, p=sʲɪˈmʲɵn mʲɪˈxajləvʲɪdʑ bʊˈdʲɵnːɨj, a=ru-Simeon Budyonniy.ogg; – 26 October 1973) was a Russian cavalryman, military commander during the Russian Civil War, Polish-Soviet War and World War II, and politician, who was a close political ally of Soviet leader Joseph Stalin. Born to a poor peasant family from the Don Cossack region in southern Russia, Budyonny was drafted into the Imperial Russian Army in 1903. He served with distinction in a dragoon regiment during the First World War, earning all four classes of the Cross of St. George. When the Russian Civil War broke out Budyonny founded the Red Cavalry, which played an important role in the Bolshevik victory; Budyonny became renowned for his bravery and was the subject of several popular patriotic songs.
