Siegfried Mehnert
Siegfried Mehnert (born 3 March 1963 in Schenkenberg, Delitzsch, Bezirk Leipzig) is a former amateur boxer from East Germany. He is best known for twice winning the European title (1985 and 1989) in the men's welterweight (– 67 kg) division. Originally the term "welterweight" was used only in boxing, but other combat sports like Muay Thai, taekwondo, and mixed martial arts also use it for their own weight division system to classify the opponents.
