Sidney A. Fine
Sidney Asher Fine (September 14, 1903 – April 23, 1982) was an American lawyer, politician and justice of the New York Supreme Court from 1956 to 1973. From 1951 to 1956, he served three terms in the U.S. House of Representatives. Early life Fine was born on September 14, 1903, in New York City. He graduated from City College of New York in 1923, and from Columbia Law School in 1926. Political career State legislature He was a member of the New York State Assembly (Bronx Co., 2nd D.) in 1945 and 1946. He was a member of the New York State Senate (24th D.) from 1947 to 1950, sitting in the 166th and 167th New York State Legislatures. Wisconsin Court Of Appeals
The Wisconsin Court of Appeals is an intermediate appellate court that reviews contested decisions of the Wisconsin circuit courts. The Court of Appeals was created in August 1978 to alleviate the Wisconsin Supreme Court's rising number of appellate cases. Published Court of Appeals opinions are considered binding precedent until overruled by the Supreme Court; unpublished opinions are not. The Court hears most appeals in three-judge panels, but appeals of circuit court decisions in misdemeanor, small claims, and municipal ordinance cases are decided by a single judge. Adam Clayton Powell Jr. (November 29, 1908 – April 4, 1972) was an American Baptist pastor and politician who represented the Harlem neighborhood of New York City in the United States House of Representatives from 1945 until 1971. He was the first African American to be elected to Congress from New York, as well as the first from any state in the Northeast. Re-elected for nearly three decades, Powell became a powerful national politician of the Democratic Party, and served as a national spokesman on civil rights and social issues.
