Sideliners
''Sideliners'' (originally called ''Fever Pitch'') is an Australian comedy sport panel chat show hosted by Nicole Livingstone and comedian Tegan Higginbotham which screens on the ABC. They are joined by a regular team of athletes and comedians including Amberley Lobo, comedian Dave Thornton and Paralympian Dylan Alcott. The first one-hour live show premiered on Friday, 30 June 2017 at 6pm. Tegan Higginbotham
Tegan Marie Higginbotham (born 25 March 1988) is an Australian comedian, writer and actress. Higginbotham contributes regularly as a sports columnist for ''The Age'' and writes a blog. Personal life Higginbotham was born in Dandenong, a suburb of Melbourne. She attended Dandenong Primary School and recently wowed audiences at the Class of 2018 Primary School Graduation. She has a penchant for sports and sci-fi, and describes herself as "a big nerd at heart, whose favourite things ever are ''Star Wars'' and ''Harry Potter''." Higginbotham currently lives in Melbourne. She married Paul Verhoeven (broadcaster), Paul Verhoeven in a civil ceremony in Paris in July 2019. Nicole Livingstone
Nicole Dawn Livingstone, OAM (born 24 June 1971) is an Australian former competitive swimmer. Since retiring from swimming Livingstone has had careers as a television sports commentator and media presenter and as a sports administrator. She was known for a period as Nicole Stevenson, when she was married to Australian cyclist Clayton Stevenson. Early life Livingstone grew up in Melbourne and started swimming at 9. She attended Parkdale Secondary College. Her mother worked at Metropolitan Golf Club and her father at Carlton & United Breweries. She had an older brother, Gary and older sister, Karen. Swimming career Livingstone competed for Australia in three summer Olympics - 1988, 1992, and 1996 - winning both individual and team medals. She was an Australian Institute of Sport scholarship holder. ABC (Australian TV Channel)
ABC TV, formerly known as ABC1, is an Australian national public television network. It is owned and operated by the Australian Broadcasting Corporation, and is the flagship ABC Television network. The headquarters of the ABC TV channel and the ABC are in Ultimo, an inner-city suburb of Sydney, New South Wales. The network began operating on 5 November 1956 as the ABC National Television Service, starting in Sydney, followed by Melbourne, with other stations being established in state capitals and regional areas in the following years. In the 1960s and 1970s, the network was also referred to as ABC National Television, or ABC Television. Until the introduction of digital television in 2001, the network was the only domestic television service broadcast by the ABC. Amberley Lobo
Amberley "Ambo" Lobo (born 30 October 1990) is an Australian television presenter best known for her role as a host on Australian children's television program ''Studio 3'', which was on ABC 3. Early life Lobo was born in Perth, Western Australia, and grew up in South Hedland. Her father is from India and her mother is from New Zealand. Her television career began in 2009 after she was selected from a nationwide search conducted by the ABC. Lobo graduated from Rossmoyne Senior High School in Perth in 2007 and joined the Western Australia Police where she worked as a police cadet. She dropped out of Curtin University after studying journalism for one semester. Dave Thornton
Dave Thornton (born 13 December 1979) is an Australian stand-up comedian, actor, television and radio presenter. He has performed stand-up comedy throughout Australia, in Edinburgh, Singapore and New York. He has also appeared on Australian television and radio. Career Stand-up comedy Thornton began working in stand-up comedy at the Geelong heats of Raw Comedy in 2002. He debuted his solo hour-long show ''Euro:mission,'' which was based on his experiences as a backpacking traveler, at the 2007 Melbourne International Comedy Festival, where he was nominated for 'Best Newcomer'. Thornton has performed at the MICF every year since, and in 2009 debuted at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival with a new show, ''Allow Me to Introduce Myself''. Dylan Alcott
Dylan Martin Alcott, (born 4 December 1990) is an Australian former wheelchair tennis player, former wheelchair basketball player, radio host and motivational speaker. Alcott was a member of the Australia men's national wheelchair basketball team, known colloquially as the Australian "Rollers". At the age of 17, he became the youngest Rollers gold medal winner at the 2008 Beijing Paralympics, and was the youngest to compete in the wheelchair basketball competition. In 2014, he returned to wheelchair tennis with the aim of participating at the 2016 Rio Paralympics, at which he won gold medals in the Men's Quad Singles and Doubles. He was named the 2016 Australian Paralympian of the Year due to his outstanding achievements at Rio. Alcott is the only man to complete the Golden Slam in quad singles, winning all four majors and the Paralympics in 2021.
